Calls of it being a throw are outrageous. Yes he threw it on his boot but that’s irrelevant since he kicked it. Anyway will fill more media airspace as it gives them something to talk about and people to ring in and complain about.

How often d you hear commentators say "he throws the ball onto his boot" & that's quite acceptable, that's exactly what Powell Pepper did & it's quite ok.
Higlet was even more creative, it was a sensational goal.

AFL backed the maggots call. In slow motion replay there's a slight elevation of the ball as Higlet releases, which would technically be a throw. Maggots don't have the benefit of slo mo replays so it was a legal disposal.
