Brett Ratten sacked

Bit surprised Lethlean didn’t make a move on Ratten sooner as Brad Scott and him are really tight. Groomsmen in each other's weddings I think I read back when they stiffed Richardson?

Hopefully it isn’t right. But reported that there was a clause in the contract that if he got sacked they would only need to pay out 6 months of it. Maybe when ratten signed it, he was thinking if they sacked him it would be 12-18 months into the contract, NOT 3 months in.
Again, *smile* up if it’s true

Apparently that is becoming a standard clause in coaching contracts. Believe Hinkley has the same in his.

Gil should wear a wheaten tiara and a toga,

And hire centaurs to feed him grapes

Lyon?

Hun says Wossy has put his hand up for the job. Hmm....looks like one of those 'unfinished business' situations again.

What a woeful presser. They said he was sacked because their results weren't good enough in the 2nd half of the season. Well of course because they mostly played sides in the top 8 including the Grand Finalists! They finished 10th and beat most of the sides below them, so 10th is about right for the state of their list. How does that get Ratten sacked? The next coach will be accepting the poisoned chalice.

I didn't see it but twitter feedback is damning. Said that Ratten should be winning more but that the new coach won't have to win as list isn't good enough (or something like that).

Well apparently, rumour has it that Lethlean was the one who didn’t want to extend his contract. Others did though.

Good idea but we have no assets and another 4 years before free agency

lets hope they dont change for the next 3 years and we start talking to him
I don't wait three years.

We can get assets. Along the way.
Play Soldo (or another) into form and trade them. Get some future picks as part of it.

Blair got us in 30 last year. I'm sure he can work his magic again.

Except that the only reason it was left unfinished was because he jumped over to Fremantle of his own free will.

I wonder if Ratten would have kept his job if he let Max King use Lloyd as a goal kicking coach

Yep, so he owes them one. Aints will be stupid enough to believe it if he says it.
