Re: Brett Deledio

Ah. Na, Lids will stay.

Still believe it does hold true as well. Can't see the GC aquiring many bonafide's. A couple at best.

Re: Brett Deledio

Cam Mooney and Kurt Tippett are the most likely to go to GC.

Would love to see the RFC send *smile* and Train tracks back up there also.

Traded for draft picks??

Re: Brett Deledio

Lids, captain of the Tiges for the first time this week.

Sending a clear message to the lad that he's a required player.

Hope he has a blinder & gets a taste for it.

Well it was either him or Kel, Oldie.

;D Fair enough though we could have gone the more senior route I suppose.

Speaking of Moore, his elevation to the leadership group hasn't exactly affected his football positively. One of the year's biggest disappointments is Kel's form for mine.
Though he'd turned the corner but now is back to being just a player. Might be genuine trade bait at season's end.

Thought Rawlings would have made Cuz the captain this week.

Is Ben in the leadership group? I reckon Lids has earned the right to captain the side and with Newmo and Nathan out he was the next option. No surprise with the decision at all.

Re: Brett Deledio

Should be made oficial captain IMO, it just seems that his actions on the field are significantly more influential than those of Newman and/or Foley. Just my opinion.

Re: Brett Deledio

Deledio as captain permanently - dont think so. Not at this current time. Almost laughable. Needs to do ALOT more consistently to be captain of the RFC. Will be interested to see how he goes tonight seeing the club is obviously bowing to apparent fielding of offers from other clubs.

I'm with Rosy. Lids was next cab off the rank and he has earned the right to captain the team for one game. It's a chance to see if he really can be a leader.

Re: Brett Deledio

The last thing we need is to be branded as a club that have their champion players leaving. I have gotten over the loss of Ottens but if we lose Deledio then it will send a negative message to our current and future players, let alone opposition clubs and supporters.

Re: Brett Deledio

The last thing we need to do is to get on our knees to keep players who don't really want to be here. Not at all saying this is the case with Brett......just simply a blanket rule for the future!

Agree totally. Why we are even envisaging this as a possibility is beyond me.

On the other topic, I agree, Lids as captain within a couple of years. He has the qualities, just needs a bit more experience.

But not quite as laughable as having Newman as captain. (Obviously I refer to Newman as captain in the sense he has that title, rather than him showing anything to indicate that he is the captain)

Yeah you're right he only won the B&F last season, and he's had 5 separate 30+ possession games this season, as well as 5 games with 5 or more tackles, and roughly 20 goals for the season. But I agree ( ::) ), he hasn't been consistent.
