Me I'd drop him to Coburg for a stint there a couple of weeks at least. It could be that his development as a player was hindered by TW and the ineffective gameplan he had plus of course playing players out of position to boot.

Deledio will learn nothing about hard work running around in the magoos picking up possessions at will.

He needs, somehow, to learn or be taught to work even harder when it gets tough. Playing at Coburg would be counter-productive and serve only to reinforce the easy running/easy possessions that are clearly detracting from his game at the moment.

give him a tagging role for a couple of weeks

From what I could tell he was matched against Goddard and Goddard was far more effective... not a tag as such but gave him too much room and did no damage himself.

Massive concerns over Lids' body language and intensity since his BOG against Freo.

Deledio would go close to the least impressive No.1 draft pick this century.

Riewoldt, Hodge, Goddard, Cooney, Murphy & Kruezur are all well in front of him and Gibbs probably the equal. Only Watts is yet to surpass him and that may come soon.

2 first round picks would be nice!

You do make me chuckle.

Enough is enough!!!!!

Feels the need to write 'run hard' on his hand

and then does nothing of the sort!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again Cousins shows exactly how over-rated Deledio is!!!!!!!!

Re: Cousins shows how over-rated Deledio is!

What excuses this week?????????

No TW

No broken hand

Nothing but brief sparks

Everyone keeps screaming to TANK - to lose games so we can get a priority pick!!!!!!

What - so we can get another 15 ineefective possessions per week - with the occasional 25 - albeit always in a losing team!!!!!

Never before have we fallen for such hype.

Ben Cousins is more valuable every week!

I will not bat an eyelid if we trade Deledio.

If we sign him on a big contract - I for one will not renew my membership!

He doesn't deserve my hard earned money!

Re: Cousins shows how over-rated Deledio is!

We're not happy with 29 touches and 2 goals while keeping Judd's impact to a minimum? Not to mention the second most contested possessions on the ground and 6 clearances.

I agree, anyone giving it to Deledio today didn't watch the game that closely.

No doubt needs to improve some aspects but did a lot of good things today and beat Gibbs when he was getting tagged by him, then did some good defensive work on Judd.

Thought his last quarter in particular was outstanding and did temper Judd which was good to see. Still, his first half (esp. second quarter) was pretty poor.

Re: Cousins shows how over-rated Deledio is!

I can see too much of a Nathan Brown personality in Lids, but now that Cuz has arrived and proved how good he still is, I'll expect him to take Lids under his arms and improve in the years to come.

Re: Cousins shows how over-rated Deledio is!

I agree, Deledio is way too soft off the ball. Runs at 1/4 pace unless he has the ball in his hands. Not good enough.

Our effort off the ball is the reason why we're such a sh!t team, and Deledio is a prime example of how we're not good enough. Unless he wants to give 100% on AND off the ball, then he can be traded for all I care.

If any of you think 29 soft possessions and 2 goals is good enough then you must be happy with where we are as a football club. Why don't we bring Bowden back then? Whats the difference between the two?

This has to be the most 'SPOT ON' post on this website.
Very well said Jinxy :clap

Re: Cousins shows how over-rated Deledio is!

This is a first for me however I will stick up for Lids today.

IMO he was by far our best and most damaging player in the first half today.

What the hell was he put on Judd in the 2nd half - that killed his game.
I'm all for giving Lids tasks against dangerous mids - but why in the 2nd half today when he was our best player -

The positional change makes me think we are definately tanking big time - or it was a very very bad coaching move.

If he didn't go onto Judd he could have been our best today.

also - I do love Cousins gut running.
