Really hope we nail the Deledio trade and don't pick up duds with the picks we got out of it for this years draft.

Ironic if we were to trade the pick we received for Deledio back to GWS for Hopper or Kennedy

What a sad end to a magnificent player. He went from champion to injury prone hack as quick as anyone I can remember. Was so resilient and so good. Football can be ruthless

No doubt. He was an iron man.

Maybe a timely reminder Jack might only have 1-2 decent seasons left, Cotch and Rance maybe 2-3.

Once players get near that dreaded 30 it can end pretty quickly.

Lids IS finished , get over it .The best trade ,Tigers have done for years..

it would seem that way. Very shrewd by tigers. Sad for Lids. Likely end of a great tiger player, who ultimately took one for the team.

I think if he is finished, we should do him the honour of bestowing him a technical one-club player status ;D

too bad for Lids. long way from home, horrible team mates, crap jumper, and now another set back.
it would be doing his head in.

On the money Barnzy re the dreaded 30s. Because of Jack's lack of natural athleticism, the end could be pretty swift. Rance on the other hand will play till he's 52

We dodged a massive bullet there.

I'm caught between happy to see win the big one with GWS and hoping his done for and will go down as only having played for Richmond

We look to have timed his trade out perfectly which I'm rapt with.

However, loved Lids as a player and wish him the best. He gave RFC his best. Hope he makes it back to win a final or two with GWS, as long as it's never against us.

It could be the other way around. Rance already had hamstring tendinitis and started the season slow after missing preseason games just like Lids 2-3 years ago. Nick Riewoldt has proven to be a machine and Jack can play well purely with smarts, so the athleticism factor is less of an issue compared to Rance who relies on it to make a last second desperate position. Jack will be the one to play late, like Stevie J. Hopefully Rance is like Buddy and both our bookends play into their mid 30's.

Rance isn't human. The others are

As soon as non contact calf injuries hit you know the players body is getting very old.

Jack's lack of athleticism??? The bloke can jump on top of heads off a step.

He's not quick, but neither is he slow (he's faster than he used to be). If it drops off it won't hurt him. His endurance running is miles better than it used to be. I'll back him to play until at least 33.

Deledio was worth a punt by GWS. Would have been the cream on top for them. Disappointing for Lids but once those soft tissue injuries hit, at his age, it is very difficult to recover 100%.

Sad to hear about Lids. Would've loved to see him chaired off in Richmond colours when retiring.
