Brett Deledio (merged)

Yeah he was a bit of a figjam. Oh well.

Not everyone is blessed with his traits. Lets see how he fits in with those GWS all stars if he ever gets on the park.

Regardless still happy with what we got for him.

i have heard it from a few credible sources that Lids was part of the problem. How much of a problem, who knows. He was very negative from what I was told by one source. The younger brigade were happy when he left for various reasons.

I still don't think he really got on well with Chimp. Always noticed a light tension between them. It happens.

We could finish top 8 and still end up with 2 quality picks. This is turning into a better trade then the Hogg trade

Didn't realise Matty White was still playing AFL.
Wonder how Deledio is feeling about watching his former team produce the goods (although his new team is looking pretty damn sharp and imposing)?

poor form that innuendo! ....if only you knew the truth.
It's not innuendo and I do know the truth. Lids was poison, especially last year. Him going, our summer recruiting, a good injury run and the new assistant coaches are the four main reasons we've improved so much.

It could be easily suggested in hindsight that Lids n Tyrone leaving have massively improved our side. The way we played footy last year compared to the way we're playing footy this year. Been telling people for ages it wasn't all Dimma's fault, it was all Lids n Tyrones fault, it's all fixed now.

And if Dimma makes the top 4 or beyond the NAYSAYERS on here will still bag him ...
another 2 year extension IF he makes top 4 this year ?..

Lids says on AFL.com that his rehab is going great.

he even taught the GWS strength and conditioning staff a skill that was second nature at Tigerland.

.... walking backwards on treadmills, carrying lead weights.

What a trade

What a sad end to a magnificent player. He went from champion to injury prone hack as quick as anyone I can remember. Was so resilient and so good. Football can be ruthless

I have a feeling we might not ever have to see him play an AFL game in anything other than a Richmond jumper

A big doubt on Lids playing this season, he turns 31 early next year, i don't think GWS will ever see him at his very best. Bad luck for him, but good luck for us.

Really hope we nail the Deledio trade and don't pick up duds with the picks we got out of it for this years draft.

That's a bugger for Deledio, but that's footy for you.
It's going to be a very big struggle for him to get back on the park from here.
