Lids doesn't poll well because for some reason he doesn't stand out. Blends in with the rest of the players. Always been that way.

No, Baloo, given he ran much faster, kicked much better, and made much better decisions with the ball, including kicking many great or long goals, than the rest of our players generally, don't think that's it.

Perhaps mercurial, but not always able to handle close attention in tight games, is the reason.

You can think what you want but I've been saying it since he arrived and despite how good he is he doesn't attract the same brownlow vote attention as other players of his ilk. Even in games when he's not being manhandled.

Then it's hard to explain because IMO, about the most exciting player at RFC over his time at the club along with DM and JR. Great to watch and highly skilled and athletic; not much he couldn't do at his best. Our only Draft Pick No. 1 (since Banak) and it showed.

Maybe 'lippy' is closer?

Was interesting to listen to Cameron Mooney yesterday on SEN. Reckons Lids will "have a field day" at GWS and they should play him as a permanent forward.

Hard to disagree with that.

Cameron Lids and Stevie J across HF with Greene, Patton and D Smith, Gws are gonna pile on some scoreboard pain on a few sides next year.

Couldn't help but notice he really struggled in the GWS 3k T/T, finishing well back at the tail of the field. Former lifetime RFC supporter, Scully, thrashed everyone.

Would've thought that Lids would have been trying to earn the respect of his new teammates, especially as he is probably on more money than a lot of them. He should be pretty fit as he was close to playing at the end of last season. Disappointing effort on face value.

I don't think it's due to lack of effort. He's an oldie in this team which is loaded with high calibre aerobic footballers, top running players.

I disagree as he has been on a modified program last few years, they has built fitness loads over many years, im actually surprised they risked him in a race as his leg injuries could flare up again, particularly the Achilles

But they don't depend on or need him like we did; easily replaceable in that team, unlike ours'. His struggle might be to get a regular place in the GWS side, especially if he gets injured again.

?

He would surely be in their top 3-4. Especially if they reckon Heath Shaw was in that group in 2016...

Not sure he can be the Lids of 3 years ago. Body will have to stand up better than recently.

Yeah you're probably right, it's not an easy situation for him. His new teammates are busting their guts while the new bloke on big dollars is on a modified training program.

He possibly wont need to work as hard at the Giants?

Like, I mean, he might have more support and be played where he can have a reduced likelihood of being injured? Forward line?
