Brandon Ellis

I liken Ellis to a Joey Montagna in his prime.

Ellis though, has a bigger body and is a better mark than Montagna. Probably has a bigger tank too.

Very happy with this kid considering we traded pick 14 effectively for Ellis and Morris in 2011.

Yep, Montagna / Stanton is the comparison I see. Better and tougher than Stanton, not as quick as Joey but much better in the air than either.

Has made it onto the bench in Lloyd's rolling AA team.

7. WHY NO TAG ON ELLIS?
Adelaide is not alone in letting Ellis run free because he seems to escape the attention from all clubs. His possessions in the past eight games read 31, 28, 34, 27, 29, 32, 36 and 35. Deledio has gone forward so a backman can take care of him, Cotchin still gets close attention, Miles is in and under, so who else is left. Ellis needs a tag pronto. At 21 and after 62 games, he looms as a Richmond’s equivalent to Sydney’s Dan Hannebery.

Maybe he's just burning them off.
I think so. Adelaide put Mackay on him. Not sure after he went off injured but Ellis did have around 18 possessions until half time.

Brandon Ellis will be one of the three amigos when Deledio retires.

Ellis, Cotchin, Martin.

The great thing about Ellis is he is just so smart at reading the fall. Time and again he was the only bloke who knew that the wet heavy ball would come on straight over the turf and position himself accordingly.

How many times was he on the right side of the contest to collect?

Just a master at driving to the uncontested ball.

A skill not all blokes have and few can master it like Ellis.

In this way I liken him to Heppell -- a genius accumulator. Except Ellis has a better kick and was pick 15.

Had a mare yesterday. Couldn't get in the game and got overlooked a few times.

Curious to see how we bounces back in a big game this week. Good test for him.

The Goodes tackle was match winning. Watch the preceding 20 secs. He was in our attacking forward pocket, on the opposite side of the ground. He sprinted the whole way, following the Sydney ball carriers, and when it got into Goodes' hands - BANG...!!! - Ellis was in the back pocket.

Extraordinary effort.

Yes he covers heaps of ground and does it smart. Has character to go with the engine

Solid game without starring.

If this is the worst output we ever get out of him then he will truly be an elite player.

Had a couple of moments in the last quarter when he had to go. Hard. And he did. With no fear or second thoughts.

And stuck that tackle on Goodes. Tremendous bounce back.

Yes great news. Very smart move to get it done now.

Brandon is a superstar footballer and excellent person will be 200 game player
Great job extending his contract
