Brandon Ellis

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Last two weeks have been his best. Had some concerns on him early in the year, but looks to be finding his feet.

Sometimes we expect alot of these kids coming straight from underage footy dont we.

Agree. Im actually a believer that we shouldn't have players come right out of High School into AFL. They should at least have one year out of High School (but for that to happen the whole structure would need to change)...

Anyway, lets end the Ellis farce and see him get a nomination.

He would have to be top 5 from the 2011 draft class? What a ready made beauty of a player. He runs games out better than alot of seasoned players.

Yeah I would like to think so. Will be a beauty. Like someone said earlier, he has composure when things start getting hot.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Will be an A grader in with a couple of pre seasons under his belt and a move into the mids

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Wasn't David King at Richmond during the Wallace recruiting era?
And wasn't it David King who said last year "the cats will not/cannot win the flag".
And now says negative things about Brandon Ellis.
I'll believe what I see when I go to the games Kingy.
The kid's no star, but he doesn't have any weaknesses.
And at 18 he's only going to get better.
A lot better.

David King... LOL.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Ellis better get the nomination this week for the rising star. He really should have gotten it last week. He has been super the last 3-4 weeks and very consistent over the whole year. It seems strange that young players either dont get nominated or take a long time to get a nomination. I wouldn't have thought many other first year players play every game in the season.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Robert Shaw likes him...this was what he tweeted yesterday:

"GWS players heavily promoted for Rising Star. Apart from Toby Greene NONE have matched Richmond's Ellis debut year. Every game, big roles."

So he does have a fan out there in media land.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Good by Shaw. I hope he wins it. How many games have Cameron/Greene missed? I think they will be his biggest competition.

An irrelevant one however!

Nah....the media are irrelevant when they criticise Richmond players. They are oracles when they praise.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

yea i keep wondering "when is the nomination happening"

Here is a question:

How many first year players that play every game and get over 60 DT points most games not get nominated for a rising star??

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Copped a Melee fine so no doubt Angry will put a stop to the nomination this week.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Well done on being this weeks rising star. Well deserved.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Huzzah!

The AFL finally ran out of Giants and Suns players to give it to.

They are presumably disappointed that umpire Michael Jennings has played to many games to be nominated for the rising star after his match winning display on Sunday http://aflcommunityclub.com.au/index.php?id=525
