Agree. I’ve never been a massive Brando fan, however his not playing bad footy and his clearly in the bottom 4 players and with good players to come back in, he basically looks like been player 22 at best ,and that has us in a bloody good position.easy said:

He is a free agent next year and the type of player a club would most likely look at as a free agent and could offer $600k x 5 years for if a club is on the lower parts of the ladder and need outside run and experience - Wouldnt be surprised to see a Vickery situation next year with Brandon going to LOLnorf
We know he has the talent yet he seems to have lost a bit of confidence in his abilities. He used to be a reasonably accurate kick but that has disappeared. Maybe being asked to play the wrong game for his abilities

Reckon stats on kicking efficiency can be so misleading MDJ, players who are contested ball winners are always going to have to dispose under pressure more which makes the stats look poor and a player like down the line Dave who takes the safe option is always going to look better, then you get a player like Dusty who kicks some kicks that only he can do and some of his others are just about shanks, I think it’s one area where your eyes don’t lie and stats take a back seat. I think it’s big that outside ball carriers are at least very good disposers of the ball.

On the surface I think you can compare kicking efficiency for players who play similar roles - eg Houli/Short could be compared to the likes of Hibberd/Simpson/Wilson/Hurn/Shaw etc.
And its a lot easier to hit targets for a guy kicking it from D50 than a guy kicking it into F50. Decision making form parts of it too.
I would love to know some ball retention stats for guys kicking it inside F50 in 2018? I recall at one stage last year Jack Watts was 2nd in the AFL for ball retention from kicks i50.
Have always thought Houli was in general an average kick, I reckon he fools a few because 1. He is a left footer and everyone thinks left footers are great kicks and 2. he often kicks it long. Short IMO is a much better kick, especially as he can kick it on his left as well and Houli is so one-sided.

a bloody great effort, always been a favorite. would prefer him to play with more dare, as he has the tools to be an absolute jet.
