Brandon Ellis

Making his presence felt doesn't come naturally to him, but he is perfectly capable of doing it when he puts his mind to it. I've said it a lot and been mocked, understandably, but I reckon he is one of our better marks when he puts his mind to it consistently. Its the barometer of his form IMO. He was great sunday as Gyps explained well.

Agree, TS. Like a great many of our players, his aerial prowess belies his short stature.

Maybe it wasn't a completely natural part of his game originally at RFC - but I reckon he properly turned himself into a really determined player at the start of last season.
And basically for all of last year he was hard at it and didn't hesitate to put his body on the line in tough marking situations when he might easily be crunched.
And I think I recall the time (late in the Prelim?) when he still put his body on the line and hurt his shoulder and that was a time when he could have backed off and not risked getting hurt and missing the GF.
Now he has the added incentive to keep playing that way to try and win back a permanent place.

He slowly becoming our version of josh hunt. He is playing tough and is becoming really reliable in the air

Much better game tonight. Still he was the only player to not lay a tackle and only 90metres gained. But zero turnovers, maybe that's the best way for him, to keep it simple and dispose quickly to the more skilled.

Was good last night - then again, everyone was.

pretty much.

we played like it was a prelim I reckon. couple more of those in the next fortnight, then throttle off slightly, then bring this baby home.

Good to see brando being recognised for his good games and not just his bad. Is playing good footy right now

Throttle of a tad but foot to the floor when we meet the Cats and Druggies again late in the season.

Reckon he's going well and his spot is currently deserved.
But reckon too it's good the way he's had to go about it i.e. get dropped, go back to the VFL, and then earn his place all over again. What's more - he's probably playing better for having done all that.
And this is what blokes like McIntosh and Townsend must be facing too.
It's a good sign for the Club to show that there's no automatic place for blokes even if they are premiership heroes.
Back to Brandon - and I hope he continues play well and fight like buggery to keep his spot.

I like Brando more as a middling-possession defender than the high-possession wingman who made the AA 40. He's going alright.

Hopefully Kmac has the same result from kicking off the dew, nothing wrong with the of wake up call for certain types of characters.

Big game for Brando. One of his best all around games since moving back to half back.
