Ben Lennon

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

There's been a couple of comments here that suggested he picked up a niggle in the Essendon game. Now if he did that makes sense why they subbed him out last week and why Conca has come in for him this week. We found out that you can't take injured players into a final in 2013, and especially when that player is young and has struggled to run out games.

Saw him at training. The boy is a fine speciman. Will explode next year.

Explode?
Is he joining IsIs?

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Only kicked 1 goal in his last 6 games.

Reminds me of Griff with his flashes of potential but lack of goals for a forward.

Despite how Newman is viewed here, he's kicked more goals than either Lennon or Lloyd in his last 2 matches.

Yep and there is a another thing that people are completely missing is the versatility in Newman versus Lennon. Newman can play, as shown lately, both ends of the ground. Lennon cannot.

If we lose it will be utter *smile* to blame the selections. Our 22 player need to mentally switched on and hope nerves don't take the better of them.

That's one goal in total. Llyod kicked 3 last time he was given a full game. In fairness, Lennon doesn't have an excuse though.

I think its pretty clear Lennon and Lloyd haven't excactly set the world on fire the last 2 weeks hence why they are out

Playing as the sub distorts that a bit for Lloyd (and to a lesser extent Lennon). Id much prefer Lennon's marking and delivery into our F50 to having Newman in the side.

However, the match committee know best - perhaps they view Lennon as not being fit enough to run out a final. A valid reason, but I've seen Newman hobbling around badly the last couple of weeks so there has to be doubts about his fitness as well.

i notice that in our last 200 games Newman is ahead of both Lloyd and Lennon quite comfortably.

Yeah 1 goal! Lloyd had 12 disposals in 60 minutes of footy in those two games, Newman had 20 in 2 whole games.

You can bet Ben is taking is omission a lot better than the dummy-spitters in this thread.

Still not signed a new contract

Season could be over tomorrow

I'm sure he will be happy getting dropped for spuds like grigg or Newman

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Probably wants to play for a club where supporters don't eat their own.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Or where he doesn't get dropped in finals for below average types the coach has a soft spot for

Hopefully he resigns. I doubt it given the circumstances
