He also needed a spot to be selected into. Maybe Vickery, Griff and Titch out of the side was a conspiracy?
You forgot to add the Petterd, Knights, Foley, Ellis n Conca absence to the conspiracy sausage. Could be more than possible that a whole raft of players who if fit, would easily have been selected before Ben. There's simply an opportunity opened up wide enough n Ben has been playing well enough in the magoos to be offered that opportunity. Kids grabbed the slot with both hands this time around n good on him, if that form n good fortune at the perfect time add a few extra shekels to his contract negotiations, then it's pure bonus for both sides of the negotiations.

I’ve watched Lennon multiple times in the VFL and I had no idea he was so good overhead. Maybe it was just a good game, but his overhead work was better than anything I've seen before.

Always terrific overhead Colonel. Very strong hands in the contest and lovely judgement. Very Lids like actually. Also a very good kick as shown a couple of times Friday when he hit a very good option on the wing and then found Ellis forward.

Issue was his decision making apparently and his defensive work and speed and tank, generally getting involved enough.

You cant beat pure skill though when a game is tight.

Yeah, this has really struck me over the last few weeks.

It is a logical conclusion to draw that four days after Lennon refuses to sign a contract but puts it off til years end he gets selected in the seniors for his first game in 10 weeks and second for the year.

Fanciful or logical?
or coincidental?

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Won't be long n we'll no longer have room in the side for duds n fringies in the bottom six of the team. Kids like Lennon, C.Ellis stepping up n bringing silk. Kmac n Lambert bringing in some quality grunt. The Beanie n Menadue hovering around with some pace n mobility n goal scoring options.

Then we somehow have to fit some sort of A grade free agent into the team as well. Bloody house full sign will be going up before we know it.

Yep I reckon we have a temporary window where we have a premiership list because we have top end talent in our kids and also in some cheap freebie picks eg Miles, lambert.

As we mature it might be difficult to fit them all in under the cap so right now we have quality kids and fellow travellers who can play 17 -22 on the list.

Hardwick just has to believe and trust, something Lyon didn't do at Saints when positions 17 - 22 went to defensive hacks.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Do Lennon and co prove the theory that some players are better AFL players than VFL players?

Well Warney was a better test player than state player and club player.

I think players that rely on the purity of their skill will cope best with the more limited time they get at senior level.

Or the theory that racking up possessions at VFL level has little to do with the quality of decisions/disposal that is required for AFL teams to win games.

Refused to sign hey ?
Negotiations completed, papers printed, all parties ready & Ben says no, I'm not signing.
Or during negotiations he and or his manager say, no we will wait till end of year .
Huge difference

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

My inside word was that midway through this season he was looking at other options due to a lack of opportunities at RFC. Hopefully this has changed now.

Bit of a tryhard there Taz according to the reports an offer was made and there are two things that can happen he either signs or doesn't in this case he refuses to sign the contract on offer and puts negotiations of til years end.

I raised a valid argument and you are trying to manipulate the meaning to attack it is that is your best effort ???????????

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Are you seriously alleging that the match selection panel is vulnerable to player extortion yandb? Play me or I won't sign?

He was probably getting as sick of Morris getting games as the rest of us.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Lennon is getting a game because he whispered to Dimma that jet fuel can't melt steel beams.

Ant man we don't live in a perfect world. If I was coach and a player pulled that stunt I wouldn't be too impressed. But not too bloody minded to see that it would be in the best interests of the club to play him to either pump up his trade price or find out if he can play so the football dept. can bump up his contract offer.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Play him to pump up his trade value? He's out of contract at the end of the year he can just walk. This doesn't help us. There was a position vacant and he got the call up. Why do we need other theories?
