Ben Lennon

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Sorry for shouting but Thomas v Miles thing keeps going around and around.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Amazing isn't it. You hold them back, give them a taste of the big league so they know what it's like. Tell them what they need to work on to get another crack and when they finally start performing they get a run.

But somehow RFC have it all wrong despite debuting as many first gamers as any this year.

Yeah but what people complain about more is the way Morris and Newman get games while the kids have to improve first.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Get the kids to push them out of the way. Fight for that spot, not hand it to them. I still reckon Tambling would have been a better player if he wasn't an automatic selection from the day he arrived at punt road.

Dunno about that Balooga. Jack Watts spent a fair bit of time in the magoos n nearly had to fight for his spot back in the magoos after a long senior run. He definitely aint a better player.

Can't think of a worse cancers than the MFC when they were in tank mode. Where it's ingrained early that winning doesn't matter.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I had my doubts if Lennon had the will to succeed but after a couple of consecutive games at AFL level be has blossomed and has the confidence missing earlier.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Ir was Thomas or Miles. They went Thomas and Dimma then admitted 4 months later he was surprised how good Miles was at AFL level.

Dunno why he was cos Miles was a gun mid from under 16s, Statistically best performed mid at the U18 championships and collected hard ball at will since.

Funny that!

I feel RedanTiger's frustration. Even when Dimma and the crew get it right they still got it wrong for some around here.

It's the same as the "Dimma got rid of Matty White ERMAGERD" crowd.

Most posters are happy that Miles is doing well but then some posters try to rewrite history to pat Dimma on the back for his promotion conveniently forgetting that it was Dimma's error on the first place.

Lennon is just another case but different circumstance if Lennon signed the contract he would still be languishing in the two's.

One wonders how many opportunities our younger player would have received if Pettard had not been injured.

Obviously you know this to be a fact because you are either Ben, his manager or close family. Or perhaps you just conveniently fluffed up a pile of *smile* because it suited your argument.

You left out the part where he was delisted by GWS and couldn't find a club until we threw him a lifeline.

Of course, that's not speculation at all ::)

TM you didn't even try to debate the argument but attacked the poster which indicate you have nothing to offer in relpy.

Try and present a logical reply to be taken seriously.

When you've used no facts it's hard to debate logically. Your old argument is based on a fanciful belief you have of which there is not a shred of proof.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

He is just a classy footballer that will get better.

And another thing, I think his strength overhead has been severely underated on this forum.

May end up being our Darling type player in time.

It is a logical conclusion to draw that four days after Lennon refuses to sign a contract but puts it off til years end he gets selected in the seniors for his first game in 10 weeks and second for the year.

Fanciful or logical?

I’ve watched Lennon multiple times in the VFL and I had no idea he was so good overhead. Maybe it was just a good game, but his overhead work was better than anything I've seen before.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

He also needed a spot to be selected into. Maybe Vickery, Griff and Titch out of the side was a conspiracy?

Fanciful and i think your trust in media information is concerning.... You don't think for a second that Richo has been talking to all player managers all year about players??

The media come out with a story and the all of a sudden he is promoted?/ Yet last year Dimma was so stubborn about favorites it was going to cost him his job..

The fact is he is not perfect no ones, theres a wide held belief in a 8 out of 10 rule in senior management, i think he make the important ones correct and generally gets 8-10 but who am i to know as im not close by any stretch..

Lennon earn his recall and most IMPORTANTLY is able to grab the opportunity as Miles has and hopefully like Miles won't see the VFL for a very very long time... Thats a bloody good club in my book as theres players littered through the comp that play a week or two AFL then ends... The more we can play in 2nds til their ready and promote and keep them up the better hey????
