The biggest and most undeserved whipping boy.
He won 2 Best and fairest's and was also twice All Australian.
Joel Bowden. Easily.

Ball work good, but there is has never been a problem with ball in hand. Still gasps for breath after each exertion of effort, (hands on knees doubled over etc), pre-season will tell if he can improve that. He does have talent that is why I have been critical, a fair bit to do to earn back the respect of many.
The hands on knees stuff means zero... it's just habit for some guys. Most famous hands on knees footballer ever was also regarded as one of the all time hardest gut runners.Ghost of 29 said:In the 3km TT, he crossed the line with Conca. I would have expected Concs as a far better endurance athlete due to being a midfielder so a good effort.
Your reference to hands on knees during the explosive tackling drills is not uncommon. It is oxygen debt that a person goes into and it is a killer. It is how they are after about 20-30 secs that is the key.
Are you talking Harvey or Cousins? either way hardly comparing apples with apples but I take your point.Platinum member said:The hands on knees stuff means zero... it's just habit for some guys. Most famous hands on knees footballer ever was also regarded as one of the all time hardest gut runners.
Harvey was the all time master at it... opponent thought he was gone.. then ball gets thrown up.. then off he goes leaving him for dust.caesar said:Are you talking Harvey or Cousins? either way hardly comparing apples with apples but I take your point.

If your formula for all-time whipping boy is ATWB = (champion qualities + vitriol following a mistake) x No. of losses
then its Richo hands down.

And of course IN NO WAY am I comparing lennons endurance to Harvey's.. just saying if a guy has a habit of putting his hands on his knees it's no correlation to his fitness levels.
Absolutely missed the point...turk-d-tiger said:There is a difference though
Harvey & Cousins both ran flat out for probably 16-17 klms a game
Lennon runs 3 klms and is dusted

Mainly did running drills and just one of the kicking drills. Working diligently, and seems to have progressed from when i saw him last week.Macca68 said:How did Yaz look?
