You're saying this like Lennon doesn't have a contract. He does. He moaned about not being played in the EF last year and we extended his contract for 2 years. One year into it and he's started whining again. Nothing he did this season (and I admit that the GF pre season, plus some injuries during it pretty much ensured that 2016 was a write off for him) warranted being given games in the seniors and the few games he got there didn't do enough to keep him there. Unfortunately from day 1 I don't think he ever wanted to be at Richmond and we wasted a high pick, when we would have been better off giving it to some kid who actually wanted to play for us.
One of the problems with Hardwick is his inability to develop youngsters.
How many times have we seen Hardwick select young players for one game then drop them the following week.
All that does is sap their confidence.
Meanwhile players who have no long term future get gifted games.
That is the fault of the senior coach.

We'll get and take pick 23 for Ben.

If we do I'd be stoked but I'm not banking on it. I would even accept a downgrade of pick 39 (Conca pick).

I notice on the RFC website that Ben is the face of the Fighting Tiger Fund - Building a Strong and Bold Future!! Wonder why? Bit of encouragement and promotion to show him he's needed next year?

Trying to up his trade value?

Assuming this is the Carlton 2nd rounder, I reckon this is giving him away. He is contracted so we can play a bit of hardball (acknowledging you don't want to keep players that don't want to be at the club). Should try to take pick 23 but also swap 1st round picks 5 & 6 around. Really only relevant if we can do the Prestia trade without giving up pick 6 and using players instead, but I think we really need both Prestia and a very early draft pick to improve.

Come off it Robbo. Pick 23 for this cat would be the best trade we've ever done.

Take it and run immediately.

He's not a cat. Lazy and entitled, perhaps, but not a cat.

Agree to disagree Spook. His last quarter against Geelong confirmed it for me. Didn't want it. Played scared. Cat.

Just about every footballer not named Rance or Archer has taken a short step. It's not something I've noticed before with Ben. Not hangable.

Lemon's leg tatts belong on the beach at Surfers Paradise. He should be part of the Prestia trade.

Agree. Hopefully GC is gullible enough.

Wouldn't suprise me if balme attempts to convince him to stay
My thoughts also

Big changes coming and he should think carefully

(Got a fair idea that Choco has been in the ear of Lennon and Conca)

I reckon conca was mutual between both club and player. But lennon being contracted id say if balme wants him to stay he may. Balme is a peoples person.

Unfortunately this is still true. Because of his huge physical hurdles he needs to work harder than most professional footballers.

Never the type to do that.

For many maybe mate.

Leysy has had a foot out of the Lennon camp from day 1.

Never saw him as the type to have the drive to get fit enough to overcome the physical limitations.

well we're not going get much with that attitude Ridders. Don't you realize opposition list managers are monitoring this site to make decisions on these players. Pick 23, swap picks 5 & 6 and we're still getting screwed.

Being a cat is just about taking the odd short step, it is the whole package.

Ben thinks he is awesome, gets the tough stickers, holds club to ransom coming off his first contract when he achieved nothing, demands to be traded after 1 yr of new contract b/c he thinks he awesome and it is unfair why he isnt getting greater opportunities despite the fact he hasnt earnt it.

In short, he is convinced he is awesome when the coaches know full well he is only very average.

And it isnt just about short steps, it is about intensity he takes on each game. His intensity is less than what is expected of an AFL player.
