One of the problems with Hardwick is his inability to develop youngsters.CarnTheTiges said:You're saying this like Lennon doesn't have a contract. He does. He moaned about not being played in the EF last year and we extended his contract for 2 years. One year into it and he's started whining again. Nothing he did this season (and I admit that the GF pre season, plus some injuries during it pretty much ensured that 2016 was a write off for him) warranted being given games in the seniors and the few games he got there didn't do enough to keep him there. Unfortunately from day 1 I don't think he ever wanted to be at Richmond and we wasted a high pick, when we would have been better off giving it to some kid who actually wanted to play for us.
How many times have we seen Hardwick select young players for one game then drop them the following week.
All that does is sap their confidence.
Meanwhile players who have no long term future get gifted games.
That is the fault of the senior coach.
