Why we be worried about what we get out of effectively the last player taken in the Draft. Anything is a bonus. Who do you think we will get more out of, RBR or Gourdis?

Grandma Tooheys worries about everything.

Where's the fun in that?

It' be horrible if your cart was left behind by the ones who took a risk.

Winners are grinners...

Edit: You know what I'm going to hate the most about getting Cousins? Every 3 weeks there's going to be a rumour "Cuz got caught..." or "Cuz failed drug test, waiting on official confirmation..." when it's false.

I'm expecting a couple of scares by idiot posters pretending to be in the know.

Also the media are trying to make everything sound positive right now so public support is high, but I'm still sure they are deliberately doing this with the intention of returning to the sewer as soon as it's official. They're lobbying for Cousins too, I don't look forward to the stories that will no doubt pop up over the next few months. They'll probably blow something out of nothing, like "Cousins seen in public with Deledio". But I'm willing to ride the good with the bad.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

I voted 'no' - but will be happy if he does well.

As for the 'winners are grinners' statement, I'm not so sure. Eagles won a flag with some ordinary individuals and dicey off-field behaviour. Culturally, and performance-wise they have paid a very heavy price.

I would rather do it the way Roos has done it in Sydney, with a strong 'no d!ckheads' policy.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Barry Hall and Peter Everitt seem like pretty big dickheads to me.

West Coast won a premiership and are now halfway to a second premiership list.

They are grinning more than we are from the last 5 years of football, and a big reason for that is Ben Cousins.

It's not a big issue if one kid has to work a bit harder to get a game.

He needs 4 good games for Coburg instead of 3, then when he's rewarded he has a champion midfield to play with. Does it make a difference whether Bowden or Moore was responsible for him not getting a game?

If we're so worried about the 30yo's comprimising the youngsters' development then Johnson, Bowden and even Brown can all go before Cousins.

I'm expecting Bowden and Johnson to retire next year.

In 2010 it will be Richo, Brown, Simmonds and Cousins (and they won't all play 22 injury-free games).

The rest will be 27 and under.

Edit: This obsession with youth has really gone too far for some people. The day has come where supporters would rather a long shot kid with poor skills over a champion talent of the game!

Benny you need to stick to facts and stop basing your comments on assumptions and wild guesses.

You've already intimated I don't like depth, am obssessed with youth...what utter nonsense.

There are many posts from me, where I have talked about the importance of depth and kids competing for spots.

Obssessed with kids? LMAO. Tell that to the people I've debated with while I've defended the twilighters in our side in the last couple of years and cautioned against going to overboard with the kids, kids, kids mantra.

Can we keep the sensational comments out of this and stick to facts, we may have different opinions, I for one respect yours, but there is no reason to turn this into a your this or that because you have a different opinion.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of fun to be had when somebody is addicted to drugs.
I hope the club is prepared for the downside because it's quite likely Cousins will relapse again unfortunately.
Maybe he deserves another chance but he's had a few already despite never officially testing positive.
If he wasn't such a great player I doubt he'd be afforded as many as he's had.

We'll see how it unfolds.
Until then I am entitled to my opinion.

I just hope the club is going to be looking at this a lot more closely than just Cousins the footballer.
Other teams have not signed for a reason and I don't think it's merely because they are worried about their sponsors.

As I have said I hope it works out for both Richmond and Cousins but I couldn't care less if someone wants to call me a stick in the mud for being sceptical.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Hear hear! The euphoria around Ben is all upside-related.

Why did he get rid of 98% of his body hair last month?

Head hair I presume you mean?

Because how would you know whether he shaved the rest of his body or not?

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Looks like we are back to back ToO and surrounded by the Indians.

Is this Cousins...err Custards last stand?

Plenty of our rank and file have converted to the other side. :rofl

Now that....is soft. :hihi

Do we assume since Deledio has shaved his hair that he has something to hide. In case you havent noticed over the years, there are plenty of footballers that shave their head during the pre-season.
