Blood Duster and reformed Christbait members named DirtyPunkMutha at the Tote New years eve.

Hope I survive.

We move in similar circles Smasha. DPM is only Craig and V, if I'm not mistaken. BloodDuster :hihi

I sorta missed both bands in their heyday because of playing covers 5 nights a week for 12 twelve years.
Missed alot of frichmond games too because we used to soundcheck around 2 every Saturday.

using stupid laptop touchpad atm at folks house so excuse the spelling of Richmond, blasphemy.

I remember in the early 90s seeing Christbait at The Punters and they blew me away.

Not a gig but I recommend checking out Lanie Lane on Rockwiz tonight.
I saw her at Queenscliff 3 weeks ago and she blew me away.
She's hard to categorise, but Rockabilly is probably the closest genre.

I went see Underground Lovers at their recent gigs at Pure pop records. After a few years break the Undies have reformed are working on new material.
It was refreshing the see Underground Lovers at a sunny outdoor setting. Reminded me of their Big Day out gig back in 95., They closed the night after some early silverchair mayhem that day on the 3RRR stage.
They are playing the Northcote Social Club on February (18).
The Pure pop venue holds only about 50 people it's like watching your favourite band in your back yard.

Tim Rogers is doing a set there tomorrow.

And how good is the Argentinean BBQ you get? One of Melbourne’s hidden gems.

Went to Day on the Green yesterday at Rochford Winery.

Don't get the hype for Lanie Lane. Husky are decent, very tight outfit, looking critically at them there probably isn't a huge amount to differentiate themselves from the field of mellow rock/pop outfits, but they do what they do very well. Think they would have won some fans by the end of their set.

The two main acts...you know, I understand the logic, you put the big international act on last because you're paying them more. But I feel that the organisers made a serious mistake with the way they arranged it. Put it simply: Icehouse were stellar and Hall & Oates were snoozy. And the order, playing Icehouse first, meant the crowd peaked for them and then headed home when it became clear that Hall & Oates couldn't match them for intensity. To see Icehouse in the fading light of the day, with the light show they put on, would have been out of this world. Alas, it wasn't to be.

So yeah, Icehouse were brilliant. For someone who was in single figures when Icehouse were big in the 80's, to see them live was a long held dream of mine. And they played my favourite song (Don't Believe Anymore). That alone made my day worth it and then some.

Saw Jason Isbell at the NSC on Friday. Wasn't sure what to expect. He used to be in the Drive By Truckers so I thought it might be some southern rock.....and the Melbourne southern rock audience sure was there. But it was two great acoustic sets. Really talented bloke. Had a bit of help from a young lady on electric violin (ok she was a spunk and I am in love with her!!)

Great night out.
