You been to Ice Cube yet?SCOOP said:Went to U2 last night.
Quite simply the best concert I have witnessed. The joint was going Ken Bruce for a large portion of the night. The ground was bouncing at some stages. It was staggering.
And Jay-Z was so good, full band, horn section and crystal clear vocals. The man is the best rapper alive. Went for a solid hour.
Could not have enjoyed the night more.

Was a massive NWA/Cube/T/Geto Boys/BDP fan in my misspent youth.SCOOP said:Yeah saw him at the Palace. Was really good. Played all the old school stuff.
Not a amazing show but pretty darn good. No fancy set up, Cube, DJ, C-Dubb.

Would love to see him kickin it live old school with the rest of my hard leafy Eastern suburb CRB homies. 8)
he he, so true. What they 'wuz kickin it bout, keepin it reel' was pretty far from my Melbourne suburbia. Still it was titillating, catchy stuff. Back when 3174 used to pretend they were the crips! Riding the Colours and America Me genre. Similar seamless transition into the Nirvana, Pearl Jam era.SCOOP said:Yeah me too. The music was strange looking because it really had no relevance to kids growing up in Melbourne in the 90's. But I know I started to listen to it because of how clever some lyrics were. The rap era pretty much jumped straight from the grunge era, there was a slight cross over but they were two completely different genres that dominated the mid and late 90's. Enjoyed them both.

Hate to break it to you boys, but NWA, Public Enemy et al predate grunge, by several years. Nirvana/Peral Jam emerged around 91, when NWA was winding up. Nonetheless, both genres struck a chord with teenage white boys.Elmer said:he he, so true. What they 'wuz kickin it bout, keepin it reel' was pretty far from my Melbourne suburbia.
