I think you will find a very strong correlation between average list age and average lean muscle mass across the AFL in general. Give the kids a chance.

I have mate,

I have worked there for 11 years and I have seen how they approached the weight sessions
There are a few "senior" players that look very similar to the day they walked in the door

The kids I agree with you, they are where they should be in terms of lean mass and age

I'm waiting with anticipation to see how the new regime approach the training
The coaching staff seem happy so far

And regarding the argument of free weights versus machines,
You need predominately free weights, but you still need machines to achieve a balanced physique,

Yes the cage fighters do a variety of training methods , and it shows

If you really work at the club and are criticizing it on a fan forum you should be ashamed of yourself. Go tell the people that write the programs your opinions, don't air your dirty laundry in public. We are fans, buy our memberships and therefore the rights to air our opinions publicly. If you are an employee of the club or have been granted access to the gym then you should really be keeping your opinions in house. Rats in the ranks I think.

I am no longer an employee of the club , I have finished up as of the last home and away game this year
Time to spend time with my kids, and other interests
My daughter is wrapped I can go to the games with her now and sit and watch the games

my concerns were discussed with the coaching staff ,they liked my suggestions .

I havnt publicly attacked you or your opinion ,if I have , it wasn't intentional
I apologise anyway, I'm sorry

I hope the boys play finals next year

Go tigers

That's a bit ordinary linus. I know JB personally and can vouch he's a passionate life time Tiger like most of us here. He's entitled to share his opinions just as much as the rest of us.

Don't take him on mate. If you are not in the clique group of posters on this forum who like to pat themselves on the back, then you'll need a thick skin. I for one was ok with your post and would encourage you to keep posting regardless of attacks from keyboard experts.

I welcome your opinions.

Many of us are on PRE to receive and share information about the RFC.
Much information is grey, in so far as it being accurate and not.
I certainly welcome information coming from within the club as it bound to be more reliable.

We all want the Tiges to succeed.
And, to do so, we need to know the real challenges at the club so that we, as supporters, can provide extra resources to help them.

Personally, I'm not interested in who you are.
That's up to you.
All I'm interested in is more accurate information about the club, warts and all, and how we can make the RFC premiers again.

At a guess from an outside perspective these might be Riewoldt, Vickery & Nahas?

I know we have been going the youth path a bit but at 22 would you classify Vickery as a senior player?

Vickery is on the senior list, so is a senior player.

Personally, I would consider that he has just emerged from his junior phase, into his development phase from 22 to 24yo, then a mature player at 25yo.

Thanks Phantom

We have met before,
Glenferrie oval at a pre versus another forum site ( saints I think) football match

I want nothing more than for the tigers to be a force again

I truly believe the tigers were not at the forefront in terms of weight training in the time I was working there,
It showed , every time we played teams like Geelong or west coast it was obvious as soon as we lined up for the first bounce

I have helped a few players increase their strength in the gym in the off season
They approached me , they were not happy with the results of the program they were on that was designed by the club
They not only got stronger, they added much needed weight
Mind you , I was forbidden to help them as it wasn't my role at the club, but as I am good friends with these certain players I helped them
It's good to see the improvement in their play on the ground

When the new gym was set up , I was amazed that it was incomplete,
I expressed my concerns to the relevant people,

From what the boys have told me the new elite player manager has changed their training and its showing
That's awesome :)
Bring on the new season , I can't wait

Yep

Would you believe I was "talked " to for asking a few of the boys if they knew what the supplement vitargo was?

They had no idea what it was , I suggested they do some research

Ah yes!

That was hard going for a then 48yo on a hot day.

It strikes me that previous teams that suddenly jump up the ladder, seem to put on a large amount of weight and strength in the preseason that they do so.
Westcoast in 1991/2, Adelaide in 1997, and Brisbane in 2000/1 are recently memorable examples.

As well as the weights, is that 22-24yo body change that is a key factor?

From what the boys have told me the new elite player manager has changed their training and its showing

Great to hear!
Can't wait to see any differnce in the first practice match.

My appologys, if you no longer work at the club of course there is no problem with you sharing opinions on here. I hope I didn't offend you.

Rosy, I do however stand by my opinion of any employees of the club criticizing the club that pays their wage on a public forum in an anonymous way. If the club found out it would be grounds for dismissal, it's standard HR practice and there are many precedents.

I'm not in any clique mate. Been around a long time, but 1700 posts in over 8 years hardly qualifies me for a clique. Usually try not to offend but happy to speak my mind if I feel strongly about something. Feel free to have a shot at me and my opinion if you please, it's all a bit of fun and I enjoy a good argument.
