Basketball

Season full of intrigue this one. Even more so than usual. Celtics perhaps the most intriguing team. I’m pumped about the small market teams - Thunder, Bucks and Magic especially. And of course Wemby. But most of all I have my eye on the juniors coming up through various ranks that will hit the draft over the next few years. Very exciting times.
 
Thunder did well to pull away from the Bulls for a 20 point win.

SGA looking even better than last year, and JDub the same. Chet adds a whole new dimension to the team that was lacking last season.

Playoffs would have to be the goal.

Hoping they will but definitely not expecting it. Chet might hit the wall sometime during the season. His nickname surely has to be Beaker.
 
It's a lot to ask of one man - to hold the whole defense together for the Celtics. Without Smart and Williams - maybe Jrue can do it. But if comes to just a shoot-out, my ducketts are on the Suns.

Harden going to the Clippers. Makes sense. They’re as perpetually defective as Harden is. Good match.

Further to this Giddey blowup, interestingly not one official media outlet or organisation has given this internet rumour oxygen to this point. I have no idea if there’s any validity to these anonymous online claims but just goes to show how damaging social media influence can be to a person’s reputation. Truth or facts don’t seem to matter unfortunately. The truly ugly side of the internet. If Giddey has done nothing wrong it must be doing his head in. If he has.. well time will tell through investigations. Until then though I’m not buying a word of it.

Now under investigation by the NBA. This is a very serious point in this young man’s life. I hope like anything that he has made mature and responsible decisions. At 21 - I would hate to have been faced with some of the choices which would have been offered to him. Doubt I would have been mature and responsible with my decisions.

I think regardless of the truth, the mud might stick to Giddey. His career is in a very precarious place.
