With all due respect, I'd be very surprised if Ramadan isn't affecting his preparation and form a fair bit.

Had the best game of his career smack bang in the middle of Ramadan last year, against Sydney, in an afternoon game.

Wouldn't be an issue if Ramadan was in September... :help

LTRTR, how many clubs have lost three weeks in a row by under a goal?

Whats the record run?

Had a top year last year, I really think that Deledio moving to the midfield has effected Houli more than anyone. Making a big play for Goddard is making more and more sense.

How fitting that Richmond takes out the record for 'honourable' losses. I think we should change our club song to Lonesome Loser.

I still remember this from high school days.

Bummers in 1981:

R1 lost by 6 points
R2 won
R3 lost by 4 points
R4 lost by 15 points
R5 lost by 21 points
R6 lost by 8 points

then from R7 to R21, they won 15 games in a row. Something clicked.

Some people are suggesting that he should be released to the wing or some flanking position perhaps forward of centre. Not because he'll be a gun there necessarily, but because his deficiencies of being unaccountable, slow, hopeless on one on ones and soft in pressure situations will somehow be less of a liability than in defence. Name me a midfielder (because that's what a wingman really is nowadays) who had all these attributes and proved a success. Seriously is this really the way you build a premiership list? Is this the kind of player you can depend on come September? Again the type that Richmond desperately needs to upgrade if ware going to anything more than a middle of the road side.

Finished top 5 in the B&F last season, his best position is on a wing. A lot of our players have been played out of position and have subsequently had below par seasons. Hardwick still fiddling and tinkering when he should just leave players in positions that they are best suited to. Houli is a predominantly outside player who has top finishing skills and is a solid core footballer. Every team has them, and whilst they might not be supporter favourites, they play an important role.

Who has been well and truly found out. Football history is full of players who had a single respectable season but have struggled to ever repeat it. Yes when he is allowed to play on his terms ie soft, unaccountable, non-pressured, receiving football, he can look decent enough, but outside his comfort zone he struggles big time (but I guess that's Hardwicks fault, just like Knights before him for wanting to put team interest ahead of Houli's). This was the criticism back at Essendon and he's still the player he was back then, and it's the criticism of him now. He anything but a solid core player, again depth player at best.

Too early to write him off, his season as been patchy but no where near as deplorable as people are making out.

Don't mind the idea of him getting up the ground a little as I'm always pretty confident when he's the one delivering an inside 50. Doesn't leave a lot of foot skill coming out of defence though, with Lids in the middle. Robbing Peter to pay Paul maybe.

Bachar's strengths are his long passes and his handballing. If he kicks long out of defence his kicking is very good, his short passing however is average. I'm sure there are better all round kicks in our defence than bachar.

Hey LTRTR, I just noticed your stats of 3 small losses in a row (and maybe even the Bummers 15 wins in a row I forked out) being mentioned in Rohan Connolly's article on The Age.

Such hard workers these journos.

That sort of data's not exactly secret, and journo's probably have access to someone like Col Hutchinson who can give them data that's more or less "official".

At the same time I'm sure some journo's peruse forums such as this, and if something I posted that involved a completely original or unique insight was reproduced without acknowledgement, I might be slightly peeved. It's happened once or twice.
