Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Bachars cost plenty of goals these two seasons down back not hitting contests hard enough especially ground level ones where he hasnt put his body inot the line of his opponent over the footy or not impacted a contest hard enough, he is very prone to go to ground and is a shocker at sticking one paw in or out instead of getting behind, over or hitting the footy.

He is not a defenders asscrack, he is as you yourself describe him, poor in one on ones and no good overhead

Put him on the wing ive said it all along there he can be utilised with his kicking into the forward 50 and aerobic ability, he is a liability down back.

so youve seen the game now?

BCL described Houli well a couple of pages ago. He goes when its his turn, he is just not very good overhead, or in one-on-ones.

for a bloke who is supposedly scared he takes a few marks backing back into packs, or running with the flight of the ball.
I've been to plenty of games and seen him play, not just commenting on today, he has struggled most of the year IMO, has been very nervous under pressure every week, lacking composure, playing scared doesn't mean he is soft, I have never questioned his courage, just means he is overly nervous, I take my hat off to anyone who runs out to play at any level.
I know I copped a few hard hits when I played oh so long ago, its a hard game to play.

I was really dissapointed with a marking effort in the last Q. Centre of the ground, scores level, maybe they were a goal up, tough mark but he should have taken it. He takes it, we're away. He doesn't, they are. He didn't take it.

I'm personally not a fan of Bachar, he is someone I think needs to be upgraded soon.

He was upgraded during the week...to the end of 2014.

Thought he was terrific last year and his kicking is elite given time to use his vision. Perhaps it's harsh to single Houli out for criticism, but it's the natural order of things for players with the least points in the bank to come under the microscope first.

Or to put it more bluntly when there is no pressure on him. Can you imagine what he'll be like when the screws are tightened further and he is subjected to September finals pressure? League history is full of players who have looked great for a while when not pressurized. If however the opposition have really worked him out, as was the case of Jordon McMahon, Coburg or the reserves side might ultimately be the main beneficiaries of his 'upgrade'.

Reported he played well today, ??? In part I agree but his kicking!!!! For someone with good (some say elite!) kicking skills he really butchers the ball quite a bit.

When running through the middle, he's rarely putting it down our forwards throats. When he wins it down back, he hesitates too long that when it comes time to kick, he is under enormous pressure and inevitably turns it over.

Might be a little over critical, just think he is his own worst enemy at times and puts himself under too much pressure.

One other observation, not sure it his fault, he gets on the end of handpasses, perfect for a right footer, but again, by the time he swings onto the left it ends up being a poor kick/turnover. Must learn to run past other where he can quickly get it onto his left.

Thought he got better as the game wore on. Was much cleaner today and used the ball better in the second half. Still needs to lift but again, much better than his previous month or two.

He was brilliant today spoiled well, went at 85% efficiency and had seven 1%ers....the most on the ground.

That i noticed spoiled plenty and went in liked his game today....

Was one of the few players out on the ground who looked like they were league players. Clean and was hard at it when required. Proud of him
