Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

I didn't see that, I did think their were two notable incidents where Houli was brave going back with high balls.

He's a mixture, still doesn't do it instinctively. Reckon the opposition are putting more work into him, both because he's potentially a weak link and is damaging when he has the ball in space. Form has been solid enough but I think he can and will become a better player.

Depth player who is not standing out in the crowd but doing his job. Had a bad one against Essendon but overall pretty happy with his work.

Just don't know about Bachar as a defender still. He really falls off the contest at times when he has to do more.

I think he is quite good back there, but I reckon his form has been tapering off the last 3 weeks.

Thought he was very good early in the season.

Still reckon he is weak and goes to ground too easily and has limited awareness. Still produced some nice kicks.

All of these facets on display tonight. One thing which interests me is how last year he stood out a lot more - this year, in a considerably improved team, he is looking a little mediocre.

Here are a few more I heard at the ground last night.

Squib, Weak, Costly, Overarated, Slack.

However, was excellent value for money as a PSD pick and his style may come handy against some of the weaker teams but geez I'd be nervous taking him into a final playing on an opposition's small forward.

My 1 word..... Tradeable

Weak in body strength Geds? If so, I agree. Hopefully that can improve.
But going to ground too easily, caught a few times too. I was disappointed and a tad nervous when he got the ball in tight, goes ok when in the open, but whether it was the lack of awareness, game pressure or lack of team talk I'm not sure. Still a lot of improvement left in him, but he's got plenty of mates in that regard.
Which can only be a good thing for us. If it eventuates.

U
Will find himself up against it soon with Matty Dea.

Completely different players, not sure how you can even compare them. I would love to see their respective stats for meters gained. Not sure I have ever seen Dea kick it down the line, he is often deeper and under pressure looking for the release pass sideways. Houli is best running out of defense and kicking long. He has been very good for us in this role. What short memories some people have on this site.

I think you are all judging him to quickly.

I think his form is just dipping a bit. It is going to happen at sometime to all our players.

Bachar brings are different dimension to our team, and will do for the foreseeable future.

This. Was put under a lot of pressure last nite.

Geez... we've come a hell of a long way when Houli is under the microscope. Personally I think his form is more than solid and still very much in our best 22, but I love the fact that the acceptable standard has changed and know if you make an error that costs a goal you will comme under scutiny.

God.... we're just like one of those really good teams :)
