Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

He should've never been put in that situation - if Helbig's 15 mtr pass had hit him on the chest rather than bouncing 2 mtrs in front of him!! I agree he should have kicked it long down the line - might have been pinged for deliberate out of bounds, but at least it would've been 60 mtrs out.

The turning point in the game, absolutely gave up.

He plays so scared jumping at shadows. He cant perform in night games, there are 4 shadows per player out there, it's very frightening.

The entire competition is laughing at him. Not the mistake, even the U 13's can stand on a mark

The goal just before 3 1/4 time was disappointing, but nobody presented......should have gone down the line at least though.

Nailed it.
That would have looked terrible on TV and at the ground it didn't look great but further afield the Tigers were playing stuck in the mud as per usual.

Yeah that was so different at the ground. Houli had nothing. And don't tell me it was the Essendon zone, everyone was flat footed, no one pushed into space to help him get out of trouble.

That reeked of a selfish football side.

Yeah what you say is true but a smart footballer would have just kicked it up the line and out of bounds. Even if he got pinged for deliberate they would have had the ball outside the 50 on the boundary. And it was very soft to let Crameri grab the ball from him and waltz into an open goal rather than stand the mark and make him have a tough shot on the boundary. Very soft.

And you could see the collapse coming. Was as clear as the nose on my face.

I was at home tonight and you could clearly see on the tele that no one was working to present all the way up the members wing (not sure about the middle of the ground). But it reinforces what a lot of the punters are saying about our team - we don't work hard enough. We like to jog when circumstances demand a sprint.

Essendons come back tonight was based on the sort of effort we couldn't or wouldn't muster.

He has such a good long kick and a do not understand why he plays this stop start chip footy now.

Rarely push to position.

No doubt he made an error but his options were limited. It's a snowball effect.
Overall I didn't think Houli was near our biggest problems tonight.

Lacks the pace to play as that back pocket type we are missing.

His best games were when he was able to play across half back, and let his player go into the midfield, while he stayed behind the ball. Teams let him get away with that for a couple of weeks, but are now dragging him back deep, and making him accountable for a small quick forward, which he has no answer for.

On that turnover, should have gone down the line and as far into the crowd as possible. By the time the ball made its way back, we would have manned up.

Don't disagree with any of that but lets look at what caused the second chain of events to happen.

Having said that Houli should be dragged over the coals for that soft effort. That was a soul destroying goal.

It's endemic of the sort of dumb, soft football we play as a team.

That would have been the smart thing to do. Unfortunately Richmond players mostly do dumb things.

In the McMahon category for softness, but his boot is probably the most reliable at the club. More an icing-on-the-cake player than one who will make a genuine difference. With out back six settled next pre-season and a better run with injury, Houli should be part of the future.

You know what, they showed a good shot when Houli had the ball at the end of the 3rd quarter where we handed them a goal, and there wasn't another player within 60 meters him... Aside from the guy who gave it to him who was under major pressure themselves...

He chose the wrong option obviously, but our players offer no f'n support to guys with the ball... OR call for it under pressure.. OR just make no attempt to lead or get into clean space....

Houli = a bad decision, WHOLE TEAM = asleep on the job....

I know which is worse...

Couldn't blame teammates for that brain fade. It's like he had no awareness of how fast Crameri was closing. Sure, he could only kick down the line to a contest which may have been against instructions, but to try to double back when Crameri was almost on him...
