I tell you what frustrates the crap out of me when it comes to Bachar Houli? The fact that so many Richmond fans on PRE bag the hell out of him, but the majority never had the same attitude towards Chris Newman. I've said this more than once on this site, but from a pure statistical point of view, Bachar has had a vastly superior career. Yet Houli is routinely disliked and Newman was adored.

Bachar is an emu in headlights when the pressure is on. Watch him go to ground against Hawthorn. Do not see what is Elite about him apart from his running, his ball use is ok but not fantastic.

Yep.
And pretty sure Newman never led the AFL in scores conceded from turnovers.
Newman was reliable when the heat was on.

I just remember Newy getting carved up by Phil Matera every time we played the Eagles. Could never understand why he was always given the job.Overall had himself a solid career. His last couple of seasons like most coming to the end went backwards

how can this be when he has elite ball use........well he doesn't have elite ball use, especially when some heat is applied. and hes not a defenders sphincter. grimes rance vlastuin astbury throw themselves at the ball- desperation-smother-tackling-spoiling-intercept marking. a defenders first job is....TO DEFEND!

You could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't coping well with the pressure. When the 3rd set shot somehow went in he laughed a sigh of relief and the players went over to give him a boost. The pressure will only become worse for him in a final.

I didnt get to watch or hear the game but saw that Houli was in the best. Dont judge him on todays lopsided game as he is a downhill skier who will go missing or fumble around and turnover the ball constantly when the whips are cracking come finals time. Has to go out for either Short or Conca if he comes up in the next couple of weeks. He and Grigg have never performed in finals and never will. Big mistake if we take Houli especially into the finals.
