Re: Bachar "Stand By Your Man" Houli
I wrote a long boring essay and posted it but have edited it back down.
Your comparison would make sense if Pell had admitted guilt, surrendered to police, resigned his position in Rome and sought professional help, and Tony Abbott had then said "Pell has done the wrong thing but I still support him as a friend".
None of those things has happened though, so your comparison is not even in the same vicinity.
MD Jazz said:Wow. I'm trying to understand what standing up for what you believe in is? So Bachar believes it was just a mistake. An error of judgement. What, he meant to hit him in the shoulder and just missed?
Real support would be giving him the truth, that his act was cowardly, that he has a history of violence and that and he should be seeking serious help. And state that publicly, not this garbage about him being some sort of peerless character. And then start a crowd funding page for his mental health support funds, #fundsforfahoursfrenzy
I suppose you think the same of Abbott's kind words of support for Pell, just a mate sticking up for a mate? #RespectTony.
