Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

SCOOP said:
The classic linkman that we have lacked for years. Racked up his touches by pushing into space.

Worked between the two 50's all night being the cog between the back half and the front half.

His best game to date and continues his pretty good form.

Spot on SCOOP. Does his job and does it very well.

i have a new found confidence that peace and unity can be had in Lebanon after watching the 2 habibs waxing all night. sport transcends all religion

I noticed the 2 habibs do a different looking fist bump together after the game. Good mates already.

I've always rated Houli and last night was more of what we saw glimpses of at the Bombers. He knows how to get the footy and gets it moving, started off with a few floaters but in the 2nd half when we were kicking on he was generally a part of it.

:clap ;)....Mr/Mrs Turnip has NFI.... Well done Bachar! Keep up the hard running and back in your footskills. Great addition to our team, basically for free.
Credit to the football department.

GO TIGES!!!

Houli was also equal second in the team for pressure acts (implied and physical pressure).

He,Foley,Lids and Jake all had 17.

The highest was Nahas with 22.

He was a bargain in the psd. He competes well and has been very handy. 30 touches, some goal involvements and you have yourself a pretty good game. Grigg and houli have taken us to the next level. Some good work in the off season.

Good post.
Houli is providing at least as much as Collins did. We're so far in front on that trade now it's not funny.

Now that has to be the biggest junk stat i have ever heard of "implied pressure " this suggests that you can run around all night getting near an opponent but never laying a tackle and win the implied pressure stat. If that stat were avaliable when mcmuffin was here he would have won it every week. ??? ??? ???

I think he likes playing against the Kangaroos. I'm pretty sure at Essendon last year he had a BOG or close to BOG performance against them.

Have been happy with his progress so far, still only new to our system so he will only get better. We'd all like him to lay more tackles but it's not a neccessity, as long as he does the job he was recruited for that's fine by me.

People get too hung up on being 'tough' or 'hard at the footy' or a great tackler. Sure, those are all great qualities, but in this day and age you can still be a fine footballer without posessing all of those traits.

I think some people on here are still stuck in the 70's and 80's in regards to how football is played. There is definately room in the side for someone like Bachar.

Heh heh heh Pressure Acts. Agree completely and Hutchy keeps using them on Footy Classified.

skippy would you like to tell us which premiership team had a player like houli playing in their side? Houli in his current form and playing style would be a liability in finals football. I hope he can develop into a player who will be an asset in finals football aplayer who doesn't just imply pressure but applies it. Farran Ray is a good example, at the bullies he was as outside as Houli but the saints turned him into a player who applies pressure and is still a good outside player.

Farren Ray is not a Premiership player.

Yet Clinton Young is. As is countless number of outside players are.

I don't care that Houli is outside and doesn't go in for the ball, his job is not that. As long as when it is his time to go he does, as he has been doing, I will be happy.

If you cannot see what he has added to our side, your clueless.

tb I didn't claim ray was a premiership player i just used him as an example of a player who was like Houli who had developed his game to be an asset in finals football.
note tb when posters resort to personal insults to try supress an opinion other than their own it sugests that they understand very little about the subject.
