I actually like a fair bit of Gus' game today, it's too bad that he hasn't shown a bit more this year. I've called for his head several time but is he worth perservering with?

Is there any chance 2012 could be the coming of Gus?
Yes - he is worth perserving with.
He is still young - and it could be that in the next year or two he comes good.
It's not guaranteed.
So unless and until we stumble across a ruckman who does provide a cast iron guarantee - I'd give him the chance to show it.

Thought he was avg at best. The Falcon hit-out was a classic.
Still looks at the other ruckman too much
I rate over Browne cos he some mobility but he isn't a No. Q
1 ruck.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
i think he was joking.......wasn't he?

Much better game from Gus, including kicking the ball *thank gawd* and taking some great pack grabs.

I recon there is still scope for improvement in Angus.

Mediocre game from a less than mediocre player.

Bit harsh Leysy. Had a good second half, Mumford was looking very dangerous in the first half but reckon Gus broke even at least in the 2nd half.

Good game against an excellent opponent. Gus gets an extremely rough trot from most. Still developing and making progress

You watch some of big Mummy's work when the ball is on the ground, he has clean hands for a big guy and gets involved.

Would be nice if we had a ruckman who could provide all of that.

Was OK but we need to do better. Am a bit wary of late-season improvement when list places are on the line.

It's a Richmond thing. I'm watching Post's good run home with bemusement.

took a couple of nice grabs but has no idea in the ruck

Yep he's an incomplete player. Acceptable around the ground but has no idea in the ruck, as you say. Unless he can improve his ruck work he is surely redundant as a player given he is a ruckman.

Mumford didnt cominate but was one of Sydneys best. Showed Gus how hard you need to go at the contest & the 2nd/3rd efforts required.

Delist.

did his job. mumford had little impact. All we needed from gus. Just dont get smashed in the ruck and our mids may just have a chance

yeah it was very encouraging.
his ruck opponent was just about sydneys best player and beat gus quite easily, it is opposing sides low opinion of our rucks that enables them to say, go do your own thing, knowing they will easily be more effective, graham must at some stage at a minimum be more effective than oposing rucks at least every second week to just break even.

Agree. Had Mumford been playing for us and Gus for the Swans we would have won by 12 goals instead of 7.

Yep, sums it up, did you notice Angus's effort just on half time when competing with Mumford, slapstick at it's finest. The only think missing were the closing doors.

He's a pretty good mark and kicks it OK for a big man (not the worst in our side). He also shephards a bit (one of the few that do) and is reasonably sound when rucking around the ground, but his centre bounce ruck work is the worst I can remember from a Richmond ruckman.

Always looks at the man before looking at the ball. Always tries to nulify by initiating contact. By the time he is looking at the ball he hasn't got enough time to work out where to tap it if he wins the tap to get it to one of our midfielders. Consequently his tap to advantage stat is very poor and seems to give away a massive amount of free kicks - in a place on the ground where the opposition can hurt you.

If he developed Browne's centre bounce work, he would be OK. Can he do that - I hope so. I think we'll end up keeping him.
