Andrew 'Mini' McQualter

Dunno why but I like him and hope he does well. (Apart from it obviously means Richmond are doing well.)

Mini's not doing his chances any harm, put last weeks loss to the Lions down to the bye and player illness.

Looked very relaxed and calm in the box while i was screaming yelling and throwing *smile* at the tv due to our poor shots at goal.

Coached well and appears not to be a robot. Can’t knock the bloke on all facets at the moment. There is no better performed first time coach going around

Full credit to Mini.
At the presser, Mini said it was a group decision to play Nick V forward.
Did not try to take the personal glory for the choice.
Mini's maturity and stability hold him in good stead as our next senior coach.
That shows the process Dimma set up is still intact. I think he came thru this test with flying colours. Changed the magnets with Tigger’s move and went man on man all over the field to make it contested and it worked beautifully even with an almost totally disfunctional forward line.
I am convinced we have built a system that will continue to work even though the man at the top can change. It is 100% process driven and there is no egos involved. Compare our coaching set up with say Carlton or dare I say it, Brisbane.

Calm.
Make moves.
Honesty.
Straight.
Puts the onus on his leaders in the second half.

Will he get the job?

Now that he has put his hand up when previously hadn’t shown interest shows the players are responding to him.

Going to be tough to make finals but there is pride in this group.

It’s no small part to him.

Agree. Get someone new and this will be killed. Why change it if it still works? I'm sure Mini's got his own add-ins to make it better and upgrade the old Dimma version.....look at what Fly's done.

I'm not convinced with any other coach at the moment and this talkup on Josh Carr doesn't have much substance. Mini knows the players well, and vice versa, so let's save time and stick with him.

Throwing Vlastuin forward to man their plus one when we were 2 goals down in the 3rd - well it took some balls and showed his nous. Loved it.

This game after half time I could see our attack on the ball, and even though we were missing shot after shot I still felt confident. Even one point in front with two minutes to go I didn't feel we were going to lose it.

Dunno what magic Mini has but he's got definitely got some voodoo mojo going on.

Hardwick like performance in the box last night. I thought the effort was there to start, but our defensive set up across the ground wasnt quite right. We made some shifts in the way we played in the 2nd quarter and the comeback started. Then in the 2nd half we really ran over them, but kicked point after point.

If he doesn't get the gig then whoever does must be very very good to knock out Mini at this stage.
