Alex Rance

Spot on Barnzy, all I heard was how nervous he makes you when he kicks, but he hit target after target, then finally he turned one over and they say that's a part of his game he just has to get better at.

Superb. Cloke got his few goals but Rance tried his heart out all night.

I also give him permission if he sees Brian Taylor or Luke Darcy to know their heads clean off.

Fair dinkum, talk about targetting a player all night. He had 2 glaring errors out of 34 possessions yet they went on like his kicking was McGuane like. I'm sure the stats would back up he was pretty spot on all night.

Yeah, far too much made of his kicking tonight. Only get beat body on body once, Cloke got space to run and jump.

And when he decides to attack the ball he goes, hits it at full pace. Thought if anything he exposed Cloke the other way.

Well said Jimmy. The commentary team had him in their crosshairs all night. Thought he worked extremely hard all night and had a great game. One of our best and I reckon he still has improvement in him .

Commentary on this was ridiculous really. Then one of them bothered to look at the stats and discovered that his efficiency rate was quite high.

Rance and Grimes owned Cloke and Chest Mark Dawes.

Just got home and we weren't far out of this game.

Great Game R(om)ANCE. I think apart from a few cheap marks cloke got he played well all night and didn't drop his head. Considering he has Ellis, Morris, Grimes supporting him he really gave it his all.

Disappointed in Richo getting carried away with the crap that was spewing from the commentary box. Trying too hard to be unbiased. Should've been the one to look at the stats and say "look you blokes....."

Don't deny he can at times improve his decision making. But gees he was one of our best, most consistent players tonight. Cloke, for once, didn't miss one.

Thought he played a great game. Never stops running and providing an option, and as we all know is fearless.

Apart from Deledio was our best player.

And nobody has mentioned the last goal where Alex ran downfield to take a great mark and delivered a lovely pass to Miller for the final goal.
That was something special for a guy who had worked his guts out all night to still be running to get to half forward and deliver at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter.

Not given credit by the commentators of course.

Played his proverbials off did Rancey. Just continues to take the game on and try to create attacking options.

Couldn't believe the serve he was getting off the commentators last night. He played a very very good game. Cloke kicked a few - which is almost a given these days. But Rance was able to take the game on and set up a lot of our play coming out of the back half. His intercept marks were incredible - how many did he have? 34 touches is nothing to put your nose up at for a full back. Still only a kid. Cut the too cute type kicks and he wi be an elite backman for a long time no doubt at all. Good job rancey

Commentators believe too much of what they read and write. Rance did a good job last night. Again it's a case of not getting enough support. Richmond have one midfielder and one defender and that's pretty much it.

Considering the love Henderson was getting for his job on jack last week - when in reality jack should've ended up with 6 goals. Unbelievable.
Thank God someone else saw that! I thought it was just me. I was reading the match reports and thinking to myself were they watching the same game?

I couldn't believe it personally (actually I could, if BT was commentating on World War two he'd know Hitler's Grandmother's name but would think Holland was the most important country in winning the war). Rance was great all day playing the best CHF in the league.

his decision making is so poor, he's getting 34 possessions and we are in trouble. These days you just can't be average with the ball coming out of the backline and that's what he is - average.

Isn't it nice to think that we drafted this guy after he slid in the draft and got a beauty.

We get so much criticism for being the club that overlooks these types of player.

And thank goodness we didn't trade him to Hawthorn.
