How does he and Brian Lake compare size wise?

Don't you do it poppa, have a rest and I'll look it up for you. ;D

I actually see Rance more likely at CHB skipper am hoping Grimes shows he can become our FB in time.
Be good to have a tall defender as well. Am hoping Post might be the answer but the jury is out for me.

me too oldendaze.

Dunno if I'm imagining it or its a confidence thing, but his pace and agility seem keep improving.

Dunno To0.I think we need someone like Griffiths down back who doesn,t actually need 1 or 2 other mates to make a spoil.
I like the idea of Griffiths down back.he,s mobile enough and great below the knees for a bloke his size.

Rance performed brilliantly considering that some games the ball entered our defensive 50 far more times than the oppositions - the game against the Cats at the dome, Rance kept JPod to 1 goal I believe (could have even kept him goaless) despite the bombardment our defense received.

Jon Anderson had the gall to put Matthew Scarlett in the HS team of the week (Jack kicked 3 on him despite the ball hardly entering our f50) instead of Rance.

Biased git.

I can't remember anyone kicking a bag on him last season considering some of the hidings we received. Its easy to look like a star defender when your midfield is dominating.

Serviceable means average to most people in most cases. He was better than that.

I’d agree with that. His 2011 was above average, regardless of the low base he was coming from.

I think Rance is more suited to the 3rd tall position more than anything.Thats where the problem lies with us.
We should look at Post at FB and Griffiths at CHB.

Like Jack is more suited to a half-forward flank?

No he wasn't. He was just so shocking before that it merely appeared that he was. Not knocking him though as think he's still tracking to become a good player.

Amazing how wrong most of your posts either are either flat out wrong or end of being proven wrong. And funnily, it doesn't matter on which board you post on.

Statistically Rance was the equal or better of guys like Ben Reid and Harry Taylor last year. Playing in the Richmond defence! Not playing in 2 of the more well structured sides ever, the Richmond backline! He was the most improved player in the comp IMO last year. Yes, coming off a low base but he was very very good. Not average. Average is Tom Williams. Average is Jared Rivers. Rance was much much better than that.

A new standard will be - "what does JLT think?" - the opposite is true.

Albie, you were just fantastic tonight. I don't know if I have ever seen him give up, just just keeps on keeping on. 34 touches, 17 marks. He is a shining light in our backline and I just hope everyone in our team learns something from Rance.

Superb. Cloke got his few goals but Rance tried his heart out all night.

I also give him permission if he sees Brian Taylor or Luke Darcy to know their heads clean off.

Fair dinkum, talk about targetting a player all night. He had 2 glaring errors out of 34 possessions yet they went on like his kicking was McGuane like. I'm sure the stats would back up he was pretty spot on all night.
