Nice backhander streak. The tross was very good tonight and I think J.Brown is at what would be considered 100% right now
Rancealot was v.good tonight excellent I'd say........

Wasn't meant to be a backhander at all. Was meant to be realistic. If Brown is at 100%, then I would suggest that based on his recent performances, his standards have slipped. He hasn't done a lot this season, partly because of the state of the team around him, but also because I just don't think he is the player he was.

Rance beat him for sure and it was a key part of the win. I gave him two votes in the PRE Fighting Tiger Award.

But the performance has to be seen for what it is. Rance can't afford to rest on his laurels, and don't think he will, or Dimma will allow it. And our supporters need to take the same approach.

If McGuane could be as good defender as Rance then we would be such a better backline

totally agree about *smile*, lets be honest, Mitch clark was beating him till he got injured, that changed the course of the game.

Rance was awesome last night . There is nothing wrong with Brown , he was moving fine and when he got even a little space he was dangerous . This may be a coming of age of young Alex . He beat a massively good footballer fair and square , played him like a backman and wore him like a glove .

I was up the end where all the Tiger supporters were and after the game you could see he was hurting and he was physically spent . This kid has tremendous courage and you could see from his teamates and their reaction to him after the game what they thought of his performance . They all came to him , it was great team spirit .

You have to give the kid some credit for the job he is doing in a backline devastated by injury and suspension this year. I think Alex is developing and showing great signs that he wants to play AFL football and be a key part of the string Tigers unit. He will frustrate us at times but he has shown what he can do....just like the others being expertly marshalled by Newman and Lids.

You'd have to say that the injury's to the other KD options have forced them to play Rance in the key post and he's grabbed his opportunity with both hands. He's come on in leaps and bounds by getting games at the highest level. Wonder if Post may have shown similar improvement had he been given similar opportunities in the KF role?

Played well. But put it into perspective. Brown looks shot. Pace gone. Can.t turn at all. Is he finished as a force?

I hadn't totally written Rance off, but he was starting to make me wonder if the club shouldn't be looking for a trade. Along with the likes of Nahas and King he has turned it around. Great game last night, Brown's past his best, but he can still impact games and Alex shut him down beautifully last night. He was also involved in a couple of incidents that knocked the stuffing out of him, but he got up and kept on going.

Rance has beaten Goodes and Brown in the last two weeks, got to be happy with that

dont worry about browns pace... that guy can stick his arse out and use his body to take contested marks that not many can stop without giving away a free kick... rance did that very well..... did very well at getting so many spoils and not giving away free kicks

100% disposal efficiency shouldnt be ignored either!!!!

He & Vickery have more than passed what i expected from them this year.Doesn't have alot of opposition but he is now our best key defender

Brown is not finished , he was moving fine last night . He is not the player he was but he is still very very good .

The problem for Brown last night was that everytime he went for the ball he had Rance on his hammer like a rat up a drainpipe .

Watched Rance a bit at the game and his improvement (as Dimma wanted to be judged on) is remarkable this season. Don't think I have every read anyone slating Rance based on courage alone, and again he showed that in spades last night. But one small comment on perspective is that Rance will not have come under much assessment yet by other teams and as he does he is probably capable of being exploited more, especially from a free-kick perspective. Oppositions will start to body him up, and whilst Rance is Ok for strength, he is reckless, so I do worry about that.

Brown was not 100%, as we knew him, but it was still a excellent performance by Rance.

Anybody know why his nickname is Albatross?

Maybe he has a large wingspan or a huge beak even. :don't know

Had another nice evening on a genuinely great player, (who I think is no where near his best), still doing the 1% which I love to see out of a Backman, doesn't care to chase stats like many these days, sticks close to his opponent and keep his feet much better this week also.

Keep putting them together at this rate and there could well be a spot in future in much better Richmond sides come the middle of this decade "Rant's" ! ;)

And on top of that 1 of Brown's goals came from an iffy free kick against Rance and another which was from a Deledio turnover - nothing Rance could do as he had run off Brown at the time.

Good game, great effort.

have to disagree. The brown of old is gone. Was def not moving fine. Straight line player only now, dunno how long he can get away with that. At the use by date for a gun collision chf in a side that has played a lot of finals
