Why are the other teams named after their captain’s strengths except for Eddy’s?

i reckon Betts is more deadly than Jack is rampaging.

anyway who gives a *smile*?

It's exactly what Dangermouse has been wanting for years.

Ten minute qtrs.
No taggers.
Short square ground.
Open uncontested / non contact pretend footy.
Lots of zooper dooper goals n canned excitement.
Maybe even dancing girl cheer leaders  :banana :theyareontome :theyareontome, oh wait, can't have any of these. Way to much fun n completely politically incorrect, better just have some flashing lights n fireworks.
They have them at the Big Bash, TM, they usually balance it out with a male fire breather or two.

People that don’t like patronising aboriginal people.

i havent met too many patronising aboriginal people, but I can understand why people may not like them.

Personally I don't understand the angst with it.

It's a kick and giggle in the off-season and mostly used to give draftees and first and second yearers a taste of the higher level.

Can't see the harm and if AFL is ever to expand internationally it needs to be playable on a soccer field size ground.

Perhaps then the smart thing to do would be to accept that Aust rules footy is exactly that. Not some irrelevant pap being smeared around in the hope of impressing someone or something.

Considering the game and rules are nothing like Aust rules footy it might be wiser to let Auskickers play the game ( probably closer to the rules the little kiddies are taught to play under ) rather than faff around making the professional elite players play this cartoon game.

I guarantee if you asked every player in the competition they will tell you they would rather train by playing games than any other method of getting the preseason work in.
Problem is it's virtually an entirely different game. Might as well have the players line up for a summer of Gaelic or that other stupid hybrid game we play against the Irish. It's just as irrelevant to Aust rules.
Different rules. Different tactics. Different playing field. Massive WOFTAM purely designed to make some corporate flogs at AFLHQ feel relevant to something.

There are 20 nominated players on the site we can't mention today who are judged to be the best suited to this ridiculous format to be played on a rectangle..

Apart from the captains only one Tiger is nominated and that is Jack Higgins.

Don't know if this is to be televised. Suppose it will be on Fox or 7.

Whatever, at this stage does not grab me at all. Not Australian Rules in any shape apart from the players.

Fyfe, (elbow scare), left training.
Reiwoldt, (knee bandaged), barely trained.

Could be the Captain's curse of AFLX

Cotchin said he won't play. On a modified training schedule. Hope it is nothing too serious.

I think its very smart to modify the training schedule so as to exlude AFLX.

Hopefully jack gets gastro and is replaced
