Adem Yze

I wasn’t impressed with team selection
Centre bounce set up and stoppages around the ground were pathetic
Talk all you want
But if you cannot implement
He might have a short career
Witt’s is on his last legs , fact
It took YZE half a game to realise what was happening in the middle
Balta was huge in the 3rd Q when on ball
Why ?
He caused a contest
Most at the ground could see what was happening to Ryan and Naismith
Even sitting in the direct sun
Amazing coaching first half
mulligan?

Wasn’t impressed with team selection too many seniors selected on past reputation
Not sure how much of a say Yze has in team selection but it was very 2023 again

Fair comment re ruck contests - neither Naismith or Ryan were prepared to body Witts. Was horrendous - kept jumping, being pushed away and gave them first use.

Screwed it. Didn’t start with Ross.
Unsure if Balta will make it as a forward.
Skills were awful

Yze will be fine.
Dimma said he didn't have the toys and we are expecting Yze to win with the same toy box?
We need to aim and build for 28-30
Unfortunately Dusy Lynch and Co are not part of that.....Trade anything of value that is not part of the next dynasty.

yep give him 5 years, turn over the list and hit the draft relentlessly.

it will be an enjoyable process with the right mindset,

and 'mick' jagga smith

$hai aside, we've probably got our 3rd and 4th long term mids - it'll be kids like steely, Seth, Macca.

we clearly have our CHB

we draft 1st and 2nd mids and a CHF over the next 5,

throw a heap of tough whippets with oversized pulmonary systems around the edges,

and we go again

Disagree, you might not agree with the call, and Ryan was not good, but surely you can understand why we didnt want to go into the game with just 3 tall KPF/rucks?
I actually can understand why we would want to go in with only 3 talls. Because we don’t have a good 4th one.
And my point was proven after half time when Ryan was subbed. Experiment failed.
No preseason form is not a good platform to work from.
Lefau or Cumberland would have been better but all hindsight now

Yeah they need to go and watch the video of how Grundy played Gawn. He was absolutely brilliant. One of the best ruck-craft games I've seen

I have always been fully prepared to take 5 years in bottom 4 if it means a turnaround in that time. When I say turnaround I mean flag.

Yesterday's coverage showed some interesting differences between Yze's and Dimma's coaching styles.

Yze much more direct and no nonsense. Probably not as fun a coach as Dimma.

I suspect some of the older heads may take some time to adjust- or leave.

The younger guys- who don't know any different- will be more likely to flourish.

Gave me more reason to think we should fully rebuild now. Trade out anyone with value and rebuild.

We need to be careful with the rebuild timing too, can't take too long if we're hitting the draft. Tassie will start to take a lot of the young talent soon

Yze appears to be quite different to Hardwick in the personality stakes.

I get the impression Yze builds his style around supreme consistency week in week out, with little room for emotion or hyperbole.

When ooze talked about Grimes in the presser, he didn’t just say he’d “work on discipline” with him, he said he’d ensure it “never happens again”.

Yze is still feeling these guys out and building the culture he needs and wants. That takes time. It will take the crucible of a high stakes AFL season to establish his boundaries.

Yze seems way different in terms of “playing on the edge”. More classical, more pure footy-oriented.

He’ll get a chance to build this list over the next 3-4 years and I am certain they’ll be different types to those who Hardwick took to the promised land.

Exactly right. We don't need Dimma's hyperbole anymore and this has lazed out the older players. I'm ready to accept all kids in this team even letting Duz go.

Could have made a statement by dragging Grimes after the brain fade that pretty much killed off any chance of a comeback. That would have impressed. I'm hoping he just doesn't want to rock the boat too early as opposed to being too sheepish to make the hard calls

Was thinking on plane home that this new ruck change at centre bounces will suit Nank. No longer has to jump, can just move across and engage opponents body.

In the first half yesterday, Witts simply outsmarted Naismith & Ryan. They kept trying to jump at the ball & he held them off while either hitting it straight to their midfielders or taking it straight out of the ruck himself. We took far too long to correct the tactic and set-up. 18-8 centre bounce clearance just isn’t good enough.

It is going to be tough for Yze. We probably need four or five years of getting some good young talent in the door. I hope he prioritizes the kids who will have a go like Tresize and Seth over the types who are too passive like Banks, Brown, Ryan, Hugo and Dow. You can accept the floggings if there is effort.
