Adem Yze

I kinda don’t mind it was a bog average speech.

Dimma bleated about “taking the stairs” but it ultimately rang hollow.

Hard work. Actions. Hunger.

Roll up the sleeves, Adem.
Yes, I can still see his face in the way he said it. Stooged me.

Exactly. So why no movement???

Mini only resigned on Monday, so they're probably going through the interview at present..
They'd obviously have some guys in mind, just have to get them over the line.

The trading of Timmy and Jacob last year is gonna be good for GWS this trade draft and might be great for them again next year if the Tigers continue to slide.

Everything in 2024 pretty much hinges on Tom Lynch's availabilyt and form or unavailability through injury.

Why would next year be good for them if we continue to slide ?

We gave up picks for last year & this upcoming draft

Nice post.

Dimma took the stairs out the door.
Then Mcfly copied the Dimma or was it the other way around.

That’s my understanding. There seems to be this perception that we gave GWS our first rounder for this year and next. Not my understanding. If we have a bad 2024 (which I expect) then we should get a decent first rounder, unless they find a way to give all the high ones to #lolnorf.

The only thing Yze has said about a potential tactical shift for 2024 is that we will focus on “contest” and “defence”.

A worthy platitude, but a mostly meaningless one. Of course Yze will get to work on what we’re rolling out and won’t divulge a single thing about it.

I’m incredibly curious as to what Round 1 2024 will bring. Ball security? A passing game? Low scoring grind fests? Stoppage and territory? Slingshot? Turnover?

I have a fantasy that Yze, a renowned tactician, has been quietly developing new ideas and waiting for a chance to unleash them as head coach.

The story of Ange Postecoglou and his exacting possession triangles is an inspiring one. Who would’ve thought such a radical change to how English Premier football was played could yield such immediate results?

The same thing can happen in AFL footy - we witnessed the birth of chaos ball in 2017!

What does Yze have up his sleeve? And do we have the cattle to implement it? After a couple of years where my interest quite frankly waned as we tread water as a team, I can’t wait for 2024 even if we finish lower.

We have a clean slate again.

Well pointed out Frenchy, for some reason I had it in my mind next years picks but it was obviously last year and this year.

Yze needs to let the guys like Banks, Bauer, Brown, Campbell, Clarke, Coulthard, Cumberland, Dow, Trezise and Sonsie know if they put in a big pre season and perform well in practice matches they get a proper chance I think.

We lack high end young talent in my opinion, but not sure we need the likes of Pickett, Kmac and to a lesser extent Graham, Grimes being played in front of the younger bunch if those guys playing are the difference from us losing by 20 points or losing by 40 points.

Pickett has his next court case on Wednesday, only a commital mention, but the outcome will be interesting.

I like that fantasy.

Of course, I like the fantasy I've had of a night with Emmanuelle Chriqui and Jennifer Lawrence more, but alas that fantasy was over frustratingly quickly....

Ooze B&F speech was very average.

The one key thing he did say was that pre season starts 13 November.

Love that we have a date and that it's early.

@caesar, pencil this in your calendar please 😁
It wasn’t a speech, it was a 3min Q&A with Sam Lane who is a dreadful host. She first tried to steer it to some light hearted stuff about only tonight meeting the players to get some laughs, then meandered until she gave him uninterrupted 20secs to deliver his General Patton moment.

That was one seriously bad b&f night

Broady, Vlossy, Shai and Dusty were very ordinary and a touch disrespectful of the audience.
