Adem Yze

its all there.

The players were woeful. Pissed, swearing or uncommunicative... so unprofessionaL. Grimes was good.
Glad we have a change of coach.
The so called Richmond man had turned lazy and belligerent.
Time to get hungry again

I’m pretty easy going with this stuff usually. But I think i sort of have to agree. Maybe I’m reading too much into it.

However, I think Yze always sounds warm and authentic. I really like him. And I wish him the best, and hope he succeeds at coaching us.

And I loved when he told the players to get ready for preseason it’s going to be tough one.
After the tripe preseason last year, anything will feel tough.
Can you believe the footies never came out once on this years camp and no specific football fitness running. Total joke

Ooze B&F speech was very average.

The one key thing he did say was that pre season starts 13 November.

Love that we have a date and that it's early.

@caesar, pencil this in your calendar please 😁

Yes it was an uninspiring introduction that fit with the rest of the evening really.
I liked the bit he said the lads were going to train hard.

Yze would know Oliver pretty well. Would love to know what he's telling Blair.

Stunned that this & O'Rourke's speeches weren't put on the club site. Actually not stunned after the shizen JDM presentation. Just disappointed.
Personally, I think there’s a number of things around the club that need a bit of improvement.

Let me introduce a concept I like to call the triangle of talent. Skill, athleticism and ball winning ability. Now pick two.

Most players, outside of a few unicorns are only proficient in two of these attributes at best. If we are going to start emphasizing the foot-skills (again, I’ve been around long enough to remember the not-too-distant past where we also tried this) then we are going to have accept players that are deficient in other areas. This is going to create other issues.

Personally, I don’t think lack of skills is our problem. I think we’ve lost the run, both endurance and pace, that made us so formidable at our recent best. We lost a lot of elite runners in the last few years and haven’t really replaced any of them.
Reckon you could split athleticism into endurance and speed

I kinda don’t mind it was a bog average speech.

Dimma bleated about “taking the stairs” but it ultimately rang hollow.

Hard work. Actions. Hunger.

Roll up the sleeves, Adem.

I’m penciling this as well Bris, but I will leave the reporting to the professional in ‘The Great Emperor “ and I will just be there to observe and encourage the ‘young players’ .

Hope that doesn’t mean more injuries.

Seen teams train hard and fall flat season end.
Agree 7.
There is a fine line as injuries cruelled us this year and many of our senior players, played with injuries which ultimately effected their performance and the teams.

Hope Yze is true to his word about it being hard.

It has to be player specific , role specific and game plan specific.

A combination regime that’s ‘current game orientated”.

No specific order, just what came to mind of what I saw and how we need to train:

-Game implementation
-Different styles to suit different game situations
-Contest
-Tackling
-Core ( to do the below )
-Strength in marking and holding position
-Speed . Repeats.
-Training under fatigue
-Not conceding goals in the last few minutes
-Scenarios ( when in front/behind
-Enjoyment again

Are the strength & conditioning staff contracted?

Are we looking at bringing in new people or is our $ limited?

Yze would be on less than half of what Hardwick was on, so that $ has to be used to get people in to improve our performances.

I reckon they don’t LZiggy.

They want him to get his head right, standards, professionalism, so that’s why they have done a Cotchin and got him to move in with Gawn.

He stays but will have to ‘mend a few bridges he has broken’ with players & coach.

Melb if they go through with this ‘ he is contracted’ will ask minimum 2 x first rounders plus a 2nd AND a player.

3 picks & a decent player.

AND take his massive $ 7 year contract.
The Captain might be hopeful of having him stay, or see himself as doing his duty by supporting a player, a great player, who is in trouble, or he may simply be trying to keep him out of more trouble while he remains a Melbourne player.

Who knows.. but all this talk could be stopped by the coach or the ceo, or the player, and would have been if it wasn’t true.

Melb have decided to try and get him off their books and have put the idea of his trade in play. In doing so they have reduced his value, and with Adem now with us, this could mean Clarrie also gets to us. If he publicly nominates us as his preferred destination and privately tells the D’s to &@/$ off anything is possible!

Exactly momentai!

Apparently Oliver had a ‘private chat’ with Dwayne Russell who two days ago spoke of what was discussed.

Then yesterday Melb countered that , not ‘personally’ but through the media all that we heard and read yesterday.

To me, both parties, player & club have devalued his worth.

They are plenty of ‘rumours’ circulating.

What is clear he is a ‘troubled soul’ who needs his club to come out fiercely to ‘back him’ and then ‘rap’ their arms around him.

But they are not!

How can Oliver stay? I wouldn’t !

Again we talk about Melb’s culture.

It must be ‘kaka’.

Their B & F is on tonight. That will tells us a bit more?

What did Russell say?

Why isn't this happening??
Don’t know toothless!

Maybe we are tight on our soft cap.

Our assistants that were previously coaches might be on more $ then we think.

Maybe they have tried to do some changes but there is no one out there that they believe is better qualified??

Our strength & conditioning program was one of the main areas I wanted looked at.

Obviously there were some accidental or just rotten luck injuries, but we had a fair share of soft tissue injuries.

Why? What was the cause?

There were repeat injuries. Why?

* Maybe they are assessing and doing due diligence and review or that area. Who knows!*
