2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

His best season was 27 back in 2021 so based on that a goal a game is very optimistic.

Larger issue here is the chronic lack of KPP, in particular forwards, coming into the league in general. Most, if not all clubs would be regularly playing someone over 195cm that has no right being on an AFL list.

The AFL should do more to address this because good key forwards have historically put bums on seats. Or is it eyeballs on screens now? Either way, the league deserves a better quality of tall.
That’s a really interesting perspective. Maybe we should be punting for Carey sized KPFs. That’d be about Bauer’s height I guess. Surely Carey would still rate as a forward these days? They’d be a greater stock of them too at that height than 195cm + models you’d think.

Because of the lack of defenders, even though I listed Lefau in the forward line, they started him in defence for the first half before moving him forward later, laid a few tackles and a couple of possessions when he came further up the ground , not his best hit-out .
Do we look to be playing any differently Caesar

Reckon less than 20 did that last year, not sure any of them were second bananas.

Maybe Jesse Hogan.
Charlie Cameron and Daniher.
Thats the model.
Lynch back in the saddle.
Then its Shai to go to another level.
Charlie at 60 goals is out of this world (but the Lions were high scorers)
last year Shai only had 30. If he gets 45+
Then Kosi or Balta are in for the contest. 25 is a pass

18 players kicked 40 goals or more last year.

Completely unrealistic expectations IMO.

Kyle Langford
Brodie Mihocek
Old Man Tex
Eric bloody Hipwood
Oliver Henry
Jye Amiss (still a kid)
Chol kicked 44 in 2022 ???

If he is a 20-30 goal KPF then we are wasting our time

Most of those are the first option. Kosi will be the backup.

Tex is a gun, Oliver Hnery a top 20 pick, same with Amiss, think Langford was first rounder, Mihocek the key forward in the flag side.

30 goals will be a great result if Lynch kicks 50. If he is the key forward and Lynch doesn't play we are in for a long year.

Can’t discount Balta. Reckon he would kick more than Kosi if permanently stationed forward. Depends if we want to go with three key forwards when Lynch is fit I suppose. Balta or Kosi to be second ruck. I think it could work, especially considering Balta has the speed of a smaller player so could put on some defensive pressure

Dusty Dion and Cumberland are not back so have amended my previous positive post here so I don't muddy the waters.

I wonder how Plugger and Wankery et al would've gone against today's 198cm+ full backs. I suspect they would have done well.
Curnow is probably the athletic pick of today's forwards but as for his craft.... yeah nah.

I might have been premature in my assessment.
Will update latter
Never post early, although starting warm up with main group Dion & Dusty did less than previous sessions and Cumberland basically nothing at all.
Coulthard was not out there

Wasn't the report Dusty had an ankle injury? You don't miss 2-3 weeks for an ankle unless it's syndesmosis or something else.

Kossi a presence again today in what was a relatively short 90 minute session.

Tom Lynch out there for about 110 minutes, running straight lines at about 80% pace, lateral drills as well as laps. Did some low level leading doubling back and marking and finished his session with some goal kicking.

Great to hear Kosi going well
