2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

Sounds pretty much like how a professionally run national sporting organisation would do it…
Yep, clubland is furious. Four or five big clubs have gone back to the AFL with the same feedback.

Ultimately though, what can the clubs do? Write a sternly worded email that probably won’t even make it past the spam filter? Complain publicly in the media then coincidentally find themselves playing their home games at Marvel for the next three seasons.

In the end, like always, the clubs will eat the bowl of *smile* served to them by HQ and some will probably even say thank you.

It’s a very unequal relationship, and the clubs really should have more power in the whole thing.

My daughter (who is a fairly decent footy player) got the KFC ball in the bucket at the last Richmond aflw match.

Very disappointed with the prize.
Maybe she caught them out and pulled their pants down by nailing it UU.

They probs weren't expecting anyone to nail it and she had em scrounging for a prize:mhihi

I seriously think clubs should look at starting a breakaway league.
I know the logistics are futile as they are bent over a barrell by the AFL but it's time to fight back.

Don't the AFL rules permit the clubs to overrule the Commission with a large majority of clubs?

AFL at it again… 20 minutes is ridiculous. And we all know who they’ll be coming for after every game…

Clubs need something like 70% to over rule the commission. Bit hard when probably 60% of the clubs are broke and beholden to H.Q. for their very existence.
As for the pipe dream of a break away super league, I'm pretty sure that H.Q. also holds all the rights to the clubs logo's, colours, name and probably everything else but the presidents undies. Simply never going to happen.

The umpires are out at clubs this week umpiring match sims with new rule interpretations.

And get this, the AFL is still toying with potential rule changes that may be implemented for Round 1!!

Clubs are being pre-warned but not told if the rules will come into play. Don't ask what they are, didn't get told.
Why more changes, we're not a threat any more.....

Would be interesting if each week 22 players were injured and needed treatment postgame. A niggle here, a corkie there.
Thankfully a 20 min rub and they've recovered.
Unfortunately only one designated player who is available for media. Would be a shame

Clubs should just refuse. Some players are not comfortable in this situation and should not be forced into it. But it does absolutely nothing to enhance the product, which is the football matches themselves. I expect we are going to see some very reluctant interviews with players at times giving very limited responses to stupid questions.

I have mentioned this before that I am hearing the bounce is going... Let's see if this rumour mail is correct...

Maybe get a umpire who can bounce the ball and thats his only job, bit like the punter in NFL, 5 umpires easy.
