Josh Gibcus: The star young defender is tracking nicely after heading to Qatar for specialist treatment on his hamstring in October. He remains on a modified training program until Christmas.

Tom Lynch: Remains on a modified program after a year ruined by a foot injury. He will step up his training in the new year.

Jack Ross: The midfielder is slowly working his way back into full training, following post-season toe surgery.

Judson Clarke: The small forward is still not taking part in contact training, after suffering a cracked scapula during a VFL game in August.

Tylar Young had off season shoulder surgery as well, and going by reports on here from a few weeks back, isn’t in full contact stuff yet. Would be nice if the club just put out a quick injury update so we know where everyone’s at

There ain't that much modification going on with Gibcus now, he is doing plenty, big 3 hour session today .

I have been wondering what the issue with Ross was so thanks for posting.

At least I saw Tom Lynch on the grass today, (20 minutes or so), and then it was back to training indoors.

I wonder how much Ross was impacted by the toe. His stats were marginally changed after the Hawthorn game, maybe a few more clangers/errors, but not drastically. It'd be nice to think there's been an issue and we'll see further improvement from him.

Thanks, just saw a couple of things on Bigfooty from the camp RE Baker. Someone at training said he was in the midfield and also in the activities, in the midfield group, so was curious as to where he’s training

I scanned the article for that stuff too. Must be some changes. Hoping we're starting to transition to some younger leaders too.

You'd think Baker and Taranto were prime candidates.

I don’t have a problem with trying Balta forward but imo he was generally quite good down back in 2023. He was very high up in intercept marks and played some ripper games during the season. He was mentioned as potential AA squad at stages.
I think we sometimes remember the odd bad stuff and forget the good work he does down back.

I absolutely see your point. I am of the position that Balta doesn't need the added pressure that playing in the backline goes along with it.
