Astbury/Rance/Grimes = Young/Balta/Gibcus.
If they’re trialling Balta forward this season, I’m not sure why they bothered recruiting Mt Kosciuszko. Unless, as is recently typical of our club, they’re going to try to turn him into a defender.
And yes I do know he was a defender as a junior.

Why wouldn't they play Balta forward and Kosi back? Balta is more talented.

I've said that before. I question if he is fit enough despite his impressive physiche. If he gets fitter I think he can eradicate the brain fades & become a genuine superstar. I hope the footy dept is putting it on him to improve that side of his game.

He isn't fit enough, besides maybe Baker, Rioli and Tarranto no other player is fit enough.
We shouldve got Burguess or someone who pushes for high endurance as their number 1.

And expecting Gibcus to take the monsters in what is really only his second season coming off a major injury is asking way too much imo.

I don’t think Balta is a great one on one defender. Great interceptor but gets beaten too much in one on one aerials for my liking. To that end, I don’t mind us trying him up forward again but overall, from a team perspective, dunno if we’re robbing Peter to pay Paul by doing so.

Bit of a conundrum.

Young the Monsters, Grimes second up into Balta role (risky) and Gibcus third tall.

If Balta is forward it's Lynch, Kosi and Balta as the talls. Reckon Gibcus could be tried at third tall as well if we need to push Balta back.

Gone are the days of pre season training camp in QLD. I reckon the heat and humidity up here helped with the physical performance side come the season (and sort of aligned with the delivery of a few premierships).

We have Heat Chambers at PRO so no need to go to Queensland.

When has Cripps ever brought the level of vibrancy that Lennon did. I mean all that Cripps has got going for him his clearances, contested possessions and leadership

Just take a minute to think about how much more dominant that the RFC would've been through that era with Cripps Ruck Roving alongside peak Martin, Prestia, Lambert, Edwards and Cotchin.

Would've been insane.

He'd probably be the Skipper now as well probably taking over from Cotchin.
