2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

Balta will be fine up forward . . . all of our games are on Sunday arvo when he can see properly. Finals at night might be a problem though.

And he followed it up with one goal in the next six matches.

Balta is a great athlete but poor at reading ball in flight. This is why we see such a contrast in his intercept marking (using his athleticism) and his poor one-on-one work (reading the ball in flight) while in defense. His weaknesses are only going to get exposed more as a full time forward.

But I’m sure unlike last time and the time before that, Balta to the forward line is going to work this time.
Costs us goals with his lack of football nous down back.
Least up fwd when he does run under the ball etc we're still a chance of kicking a goal.
He's the tall version of George.

You do way too much research for this site.
I’m missing footy and the tiges so spending too much time looking at stats and stuff😅 for those interested, 100 days left until round 1 (sorry, ZERO:rolleyes:).

Plus I remember the Brownlow votes because Dusty kicked 3 goals and had 31 disposals yet got 1 vote 🤷‍♀️ Thomas got the 3. No idea how Balta got 2 TBH

I hate to see them cringing because it is raining and they may get wet. laughing and smiling in the rain is a healthy sign

I once got sacked from a job for laughing and smiling too much.
I told them if I can’t smile and laugh at work, i don’t want to be a funeral director anyway

Lynch kicked 9 goals in his 4 games, which included not getting a kick after half time in the dogs game when his foot was broke. (and kicking 1 goal 3 against the Pies.)
He started the year great, and his foot probably cost us the flag.
Certainly cost us a finals spot

Just hope they make Dusty Captain.....all he has to do is toss the coin then go out and destroy..

Noticed Yze said he’s not in the leadership group, which is surprising. The club hasn’t made it public for years so we don’t actually know who is in the leadership group. Yze spoke very highly of his leadership in one of his interviews this week so that may change…

Has anyone seen Daniel lurking around the goals kicking a few snapshots at training? It could be my early Christmas present from Yze.

He's always been too classy for the backline.

Put him back where he belongs and where his composure, ball sharing and forward nous have made a real difference in the past.

For three years I have been deprived of my favourite Tiger playing where he is most suited and most dangerous.

He should’ve been an AA half back last year (God knows how Saad pipped him. Well actually, Rioli plays for Richmond, so it’s no real surprise). But he is electric down back, and a real link player between our backline and forward line. Not too many players in the comp can do what he does, with the repeat sprints and elite ball use

Just stopped by this morning and spent some time looking at the defenders doing a drill where they, one on one, try to stop players leading and marking. Couple of observations:

- Lefau is one hell of a physical specimen and tall enough to go up against big players.
- Naismith looks in amazing condition and certainly not like a player who has come to play in the VFL. He was going full gas, cleaned up his opponent in one drill.
- Grimes had a heavily strapped left thigh and looked slow

Yeah I think Daniel needs to stay back. If Yze wants to play a fast brand attacking through the corridor, you need pace and elite kicking skills to move through the middle. He provides that at an elite level, and is key to making this style a success IMO.

We have players like Campbell, Coulthard and Cumberland that we need to unleash together in the forward half IMO.
