Goes to show how incompetent afl media isOf corse he did
of course there wasn’t
Amazing the AFL media haven’t picked up on this scoop that we knew all along from 2016
He went for the Carlton job in 2021.Mini was the brains behind 2019-20 not Kingsley. I have been told, McQualter is a superb tactician and is extremely highly-rated internally and also by many others who have been around him in footy.
I believe he was always earmarked as Hardwick's successor hence he didn't bother applying for the other roles which came up 2020 onwards
I am trusting the process

Richmond sent him through the process for the experience
Disagree. Last year when they were both tried forward at times it was pretty clear to me that Gibcus had the superior forward craft.Balta played most of his junior footy as a forward/utility, the state carnival was his first taste as a defender which he showed plenty of promise. I think he's our best shot at filling one of the two glaring deficiencies up forward, Gibcus another who could transition but a little further behind when it comes to forward craft.
Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a troll and someone who is just a moron.Bloody hell - stop feeding the trolls
Na I don't believe anyone here is either a troll or moronSometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a troll and someone who is just a moron.
Gibcus could be trialed there too but that's asking a lot for a rookie, brief stints the way to go and get him building up confidence as a defender. Balta is now prime age to make a statement, the brain fades will always be a part of his game but I reckon as a forward he could become a 30 goal forward, certainly no panacea for the overall structural deficiencies, but probably a better bet than going for a discard or second rate free agent. Worst case scenario is you swing him back and then give Gibcus a taste after some sort of defensive apprenticeship, that would be my order of operations.Disagree. I actually posted the other day that Balta has looked better in this area in the last two weeks but the sample size is small.
I don’t think either is a natural forward tbh but necessity is probably going to force us to use one of them there
I’m not arguing that it should be Gibcus tried forward rather than Balta, just that I think Gibcus is a more natural forward. Balta as a forward last year spent a lot of time where the ball wasn’t and hopefully he can improve that. The concern I have with using Gibcus forward is that I think he needs to build his body first.Gibcus could be trialed there too but that's asking a lot for a rookie, brief stints the way to go and get him building up confidence as a defender. Both Gibcus & Balta have some question marks when it comes to kicking, you wouldn't want either kicking after the siren although Richo was also that way inclined. The big question with Balta forward is finding ways to get him involved, this will be a touchy feely process but I reckon with his ability to pinch hit in the ruck he could become a valuable contributor. But let's be clear on both players, this still represents a long shot, certainly when you size up the best in the competition, more talls needed and the draft is the logical place to start.I’m not arguing that it should be Gibcus tried forward rather than Balta, just that I think Gibcus is a more natural forward. I would prefer to have both of them as our key backs but we probably don’t have that luxury.
Agree. I heard that it’s Mini with Grigg to be his 2IC with the plan to have Grigga take over from Mini in 2035.
Sounds like we are getting Kim Jong Un as coach.
Totally agree. People calling for Gibcus to be played forward , why ?
