Unless its to get experiencing in interviewing for a senior coaching role, Grigg is nowhere near ready. Needs another 5+ years being an assistant preferably coaching his own team at some stage.

Just a theory and I have no data to back it up but maybe, just maybe it has something to do with losing our No 1 key forward in round 4 (second quarter he got injured I believe) who average 3 goals per game in the previous season.
As I said though, just a theory.
Unfortunately there is no real way to know how a first time coach will turn out. I was at a luncheon with one of th guys who was on the selection group of Brendon Bolton at Carlton. The praise he heaped on Bolton was almost sickening. The only thing he didn't say BB could do was cure cancer. I asked him a simple question based on a scenario of the Blues going on a losing streak with things generally going backwards and how long the club would stick fat. He genuinely never thought of that scenario, it was all blue sky with continual improvement leading to a tilt at a premiership. I saw him after Bolton got sacked and he said they completely misread his strengths and weaknesses and admitted he was a far better assistant.
Positive side is that he was Lions coach before our 2017 period, so you'd think he's learnt a lot since then and surely advice from Dimma.
And closing fast.
He shouldn't be in the top candidates.
Absolutely made a meal of the Brisbane Job.

I'd your after a good coach who has had coached before, a coach with a shitt load of respect is Ratten.
But I want Enright or Grigg or Carr
I think its more than that. Even with Lynch in the side we weren't playing that well. We have changed the game plan to incorporate more wins at the coalface with T & H.
Don’t necessarily agree with this. I think he is in his 3rd season at Geelong. He has had the opportunity to have a good look at their match tactics, recruitment strategy and also at their fitness and wellness strategies.
It maybe that further information and experience would help but it is equally true that he may have collected enough of the basics and possess the skill and confidence to get started.
We are by no means a basket case.
Would not be at all alarmed if Grigga got the job.
The effect of our injuries is being seriously downplayed both here and in the media.

He also inherited the mess that Voss made, and it could be argued that he laid the building blocks for the clubs resurgence under Fagan.
Read somewhere Chappy (Troy Chaplin), Newie could be possibles. It seems any ex Tiger is the go.
I've seen this happen often with appointments at all levels.
Time and time again I've witnessed people who know fa about the skills and experience required for various senior roles be responsible for hiring candidates who very quickly come up short.
(Because they don't know what they don't know about the roles they're hiring for)
I feel like there often needs to be an appointment panel for the appointment panel.
