2024 Richmond Coach

I hope it's Yze. I think we need some new ideas. I hope in someways the players publicly pushing for Mini isn't rewarded. It's alright being happy with your coach but we had some horrible losses late in the season like that first quarter debacle against the Dogs.

Looks like Xav will head to lolnorf as assistant while we keep getting eaten out. As empty as a tooth cavity by now.

Don't know who I want now, maybe Mini is the one he comes from the Richmond brand of footy which is serving Collingwood and GWS well and stacks up in finals. Hard to judge the success of him in interim coach when the club said we won't be changing anything during this season and keep things as what hardwick would do.

I really can’t understand why there is angst about the process.
This is a very important appointment we just need to let the club do what they need to do.
I am disappointed in a way not to see Newy come back but that is emotion. He was a long time Tiger and our skipper and he is much loved by the fans for that. However what it says is emotions have been taken out of the process, we are just getting the best coach we can get.
That’s a good thing.

Same thoughts. We can see the Dimma system still working well at both those clubs, so I reckon once Mini is officially new coach he gets to do as he wants and throw away Dimma's old processing book in the bin and start afresh.

I think the appointment of Yze or Mini is great news for Grigg. In three years time we’ll be looking for a new coach again and the perceived lack of experience will no longer be a impediment for Grigg.

Hopefully a lot of the heavy lifting would have been done by then and the club would be cherry ripe for Grigg to come in and take us to the promised land again

I'd much rather have success with Mini or Yze and not need to swap out after 3 years

There's potential that could happen. There's also potential that Mini is so biased towards the current gamestyle he can't see a way to beat it. (oh to be a fly on the wall in
their interviews to see what they truly think!).

You know what I think beats the Dimma game style? Talent and desire.
Geelong won a GF last year. They don't play the Dimma style - but they had a lot of talent. They also had the desire to work hard enough to win.
Collingwood have some very good talent, performing at the upper end of the scale in terms of those individuals.
GWS similiar. Full of talented players, but also now have role players doing the dirty work the club didn't have back in 2019.

You know what we don't have a lot of? Elite players. Game busting, match turning players. Players who are hungry to win.
I don't care what game style we have, or who the coach is. Until we fix the list, we're a long way off.
I reckon we're going to struggle to get some Free Agents signing with us, or entice people in via trade, until our coach is proven.
Would you rather take the same money and play for Clarko or Dimma or Mini/Yze?

We should be able to poach any assistants and fitness staff we see fit given the soft cap will almost be diddly squat.

IMO I think its Mini.

The relationship with the players will be the deciding difference.

I'll say that Mini tweaked Dimma's limitations and improved us a lot more. We saw the players look more confident and energetic. We still waned into laziness and mistakes, but maybe that's the part that needs tightening up. I can't see Mini coming across with a clouded mind and surely would be aware on what's needed at the club.

I've heard we arent going to actually make an appointment and McQualter will stay on as interim coach for the next 3 years.

Yze WILL be appointed no doubt the club needs a clean out ( coaches included ).
New voices needed players way to comfortable atm.
This list is bottom 8 at best next 3 years so get use to it .
're build needed to go forward .
Drafting & pinching players will be the key here .

Down to 2 - Mini Vs Yze

Kinda sad about Newy missing out, but trust the club

Down to 2 . . . according to the AFL Media department. Why would they know any more than us, after all it is well known that we don't get on with the AFL.

I will laugh if the job goes to one of the others, but I also don't trust their info, just think of how many times their speculation turns out to be complete rubbish.
