Four months of leave? What a great place to work! But it's not good use of our membership dollars so I'll have to raise this at the AGM.
The flaw in your scenario is that in November 2000 a young Chris Newman was drafted and immediately earmarked as a future coach. His period as captain and apprenticeship at Hawthorn was all preparation for the main coaching role.
I’m sorry to disappoint 50 but the mini plan was just a backup to the main game.
I’m reliably told that Sam Banks is already being groomed as the 2045 coach.
Don't forget about the cheesemakers. Well, any manufacturer of dairy products!

The media department are on leave until January and the AI bots they're using have exhausted their processing power trying to spin something positive from the AFLW team's match against the Crows.
Currently watching the replay of the 2019 PF against the Pussies. Great cohesive team. Shedda, Lambo, Brando, Bash, Davo, George...no more. Duz dominating. Fly, Leppa and Kingsley all backing Dimma in the coaches box.......sigh. We'll we ever see this team/success again.....

Hope so! Reckon if we land Newman Grigg will come back to and reckon that’s the best situation.
When are they going to announce it after the draft, after the trade period or just after the Foster's cup.

One way or another they’ve gotta make a decision soon and get moving. Hopefully you’re right with the timing because whilst I was happy for them to take their time, do their due diligence etc, it’s dragged on a bit now and we’re in the critical off-season list management, drafting and trading period.
A coach needs to be involved in all of that especially a new one.
That's a shame. I was hoping Grigg would come home as an assistant. We need to make a decision soon, we are falling behind the other clubs in terms of recruiting assistants from other clubs if the new coach wants to make changes and have input on list decisions.
