2024 Richmond Coach

I am not convinced with Yze - I reckon Melbourne haven’t maximised their potential during their period of dominance and it now looks unlikely again this year. Something not quite right at the Dees, a bit like at the kennel.
They're bunch of FIGJAMers, that's what's not right there!

Yep the longer it goes on suggest it’s Yze and they are waiting until after Melbourne’s finals campaign comes to an end to announce it.
Umm, didn’t the club say they wouldn’t be announcing the new coach until GF week months ago, long before Yze was anywhere near the short list?

SrSteven King has firmed into $5 on betting.
I thought he was told he didn't make the cut
Maybe they think he will scare them into playing well

I understand what you are saying but to me there were only 2 things Benny could have done imo.

1. What he did
2. Let him go then. We don’t know what the conversation was but Dimma was contracted for 2 more years so what do we do? Pay out his contract? Unless Dimma was willing to walk then the only way to put in a succession is to tell Kingsley that is what is happening and maybe that wasn’t where Dimma’s head was ? Maybe Dimma wasn’t ready to accept a succession plan? We just don’t know.

Hindsight is always perfect but the reality at the time mostly is not. I’ve been in management for 30 years and always get cranky at people pointing out what I should have done when things don’t turn out perfectly, especially when it comes to people. Making decisions at the time and hindsight are not the same thing

The person I am most annoyed with is Dimma but even then I temper it with not knowing where his head was at. I wish he had just pulled the plug at the end of 2022 but that’s a hard thing to do when you have 2 years left on what would have been a nice contract
Why would Dimma pull the plug after 22 when we made finals and should've went further if it wasn't for a corrupt non decision?

I think that is what I am saying. My post was in response to a suggestion Benny had dropped the ball when Dimma said he was having motivational issues at the end of 2022

All good coaches have some mongrel.
Many played with it.
Not sure Mini or Newman fall into that category.
Hope we don’t become too “new age”

To an extent yes, I wouldn’t say McRae had a whole of mongrel and I reckon he’s just about the best current coach at the moment
