Pardon my ignorance, but do the prospective coaches sound out their preferred assistants as part of their pitch for the senior gig or does the club decide on the assistants and the coach has to make do with them until they get established?

That’s disappointing. Still the article said Grigg loved it at Geelong so obviously has some deep seeded issues that need to be ironed out before we could let him come back to Tigerland.

Smart move by Grigg, gets valuable experience with another Premiership coach & sets him up for a crack at a head coaching job in the future.

One way or another they’ve gotta make a decision soon and get moving. Hopefully you’re right with the timing because whilst I was happy for them to take their time, do their due diligence etc, it’s dragged on a bit now and we’re in the critical off-season list management, drafting and trading period.

A coach needs to be involved in all of that especially a new one.

Gez this process is taking way to long and mind you 2 of the final 4 reported we're assistant coaches just in that is puzzling. This appointment needs to happen ASAP the coach needs time to evaluate the list, trades, bring in his team etc and we're missing out. I don't want Mini or Clarke.
