2024 Draft Thread

Sims looks like a good type. 199, averages 3.4 goals and 6.4 marks for the Knights.

I want to see more of him.

Ideal scenario for us if we have say 5 picks, would be FOS, Jagga / Gross, Champion, Allen and Sims.

Just got to figure out how we can do that.

Third tall defenders don't go top 5.

Sims looking like the tall who could push high.

Sims looks the closest junior to tom lynch in ages?

Richmond want best mid (swinging to osullivan) + Sims + champion

Would be a wonderful bag.

Id like to pinch urquart too

Pick 1-2, 6-8 , 15, 25

Could net that bag

Where has Sims come from? I haven't seen him in any draft rankings (official or the BF ones) before. Interesting as he looks good.

If Sims is a Lynch clone or close to then you take him with Pick 1.

BTW what a great name in the WA team. Loch McTaggert. Sounds like a scottish TV detective. The new version of Taggert.

I was thinking Lynch too. Loved his game.

34 touches and 5 clearance for Jagga.

22 touches and 9 clearances for Smilie.

Who had the better game?

Agree with comments above. Only saw second half. Champion, Urquart, Allen, sign me up. If Smilie did more work in the air he'd be no. 1. Smith plays like an AFL player, as opposed to an u18s player trying to get drafted. I'm happy to leave our first pick for the pros! But looks a good draft to me which is the main thing.

Champion rising, could easy end up top 3 or 5. Bit of a ways to go on that, but if it happens, I'd be happy with him first up. Class.

Malachi champion currently plays halves of footy.

Im ok with that.

It may mean we get him early second round.

Its a deep draft when you think its not impossible we end up with a haul of

Osullivan, sims, champion, gross, urqhart and more

That kind of haul looks earily 2004 but also dynastical

Too early to say, need to see him again, but looks a first-rounder today. If he plays another couple like this in the Champs, he could really rise.
3.4 today, multiple one on one wins, hit up on lead overhead with someone up his Jatz cracker, stints in the ruck showing off his spring and mobility. Plus bags of 7 & 5 already at Coates level. That’s top 10 already.

I trust the PRE junior experts more than anyone one in the AFL caper.

So based on today I am on the Tom Lynch Sim train.

I thought smilie was ordinary and jagga good.

Id rate urquarts game ahead of both.

But jagga does have that invisible quality a bit like zac merrett where you rib your eyes at yhe stats

My smokey/glimpse player of the game was william hayes. 180 backman who Took two david bourke type pack marks. Touch of bakes toughs
