The key to thinking you're right & everyone else isn't is to post as much as you can in this thread. Posting with conviction is important.

FWIW I think I'm right that nobody here has a clue who we're taking at pick one yet let alone beyond that.
There will be a few bruised egos after that tirade ToO although the delusions can run very deep

My own myopia is centred on Levi Ablett jr. Maybe he's not the player I think he is. Maybe Lalor is better. Perhaps I've overestimated LAb jr. I'm reassessing this atm. Maybe that Levi Ablett jr is the standout #1 in this draft is just my view. And although I can bring numbers to bear to support my bias it could hardly be called research.

Suppose I'm wrong about Levi Ablett jr. And he's not the standout in this draft.

Suppose RFC is right and Lalor is the #1 in this draft. Blair said it was about judgement. OK.

Time passes. RFC thought Lalor was the #1 in this draft. And time shows that he was. And is.

Perhaps I've blindly thought that RFC must bid on Ashcroft because I think he's the #1 in this draft. I'm not paid to assess that. And I'm no good anyway (except at short rucks). RFC's people have skin in the game and will be judged.

I am certain that RFC has done zero business on a non bid. We act freely. We are free to rate Sam Lalor #1 in this draft.

Who says next years draft is skinny?
No-one knows as yet, simply because the kids haven't even started their final development year as yet. But there's rarely two fat drafts in a row. Next year could have one or two outstanding youngsters followed by a batch of maybe almosts.
On your comment on the value of 2nd round picks. Where there is a market to provide higher points value, points trades will always be available to clubs. There will be 1st round picks sold to the highest bidder as usual.
Points value next year is going to be nowhere near as valuable as in previous years. The AFL has reamed the points system to make it far more difficult to accumulate matching points.

It’s very interesting that Geelong should be interested in Dodson, Dell.

Toby Conway is one of the generally highest rated up and comers. Tipped by Scott in early 2024 to need another year. So it was no surprise that he didn’t cement a spot.

But here we are and Geelong is rumoured to be into Dodson. Wells would be potting his own earlier selection in drafting Dodson. And going out of his way to do so. He doesn’t even have a pick for Dodson.

Interesting if true that Wells wants Dodson. And interesting if true that Wells is putting it about that he wants Dodson.
Geelol are lying and want someone else.

I'm more interested in the quaalubes.

There, fixed it. T_G

Nah mate, Cherry Ripes all the way, followed by Polly Waffles & then (the real) Snowballs. Sugar high for hours :)) :))
Gotta be Violent Crumblers first, then we can go the Cherry Ripes or Polly Waffles with the old school fluffy marshmallow of a proper Snowball in strong consideration.

On the topic of qualuudes. And what better place than the Draft thread.

I have a quote from a racehorse trainer. (Oh, yeah, you know, them.) They said to their staff - "I know you're going to go out and have a really good time and do a lot of drugs I just don't understand why you'd do downers."
